I saw on nationalchamps.net that Fazio was 46-18 at Pitt. Why did he leave? Gottfried was 45-17, what about him? Did Hackett get thrown out because of his record, what happened with that guy? And who is Sal Sunseri? Why didn't Majors work out the second time?

I think you mean Sal Sunseri. He was the interim coach at Pitt in 1992 after Paul Hackett got fired. He ended up with a record of 0-1 at Pittsburgh.

Foge Fazio was fired because a preseason top 10 team went 3-7-1. Gottfried was fired for some personal problems that got in the way of his coaching. That was ashame because Gottfried was a good coach and a great recruiter. He beat JoePa twice.

Majors II didn't work because the administration let Pitt fall so far behind in facilities and coaches salaries that it would take years to recover. Majors did bring some major donors back to the table and helped make some impressive improvements to the lockerroom facilities at Pitt Stadium. He had a huge uphill battle ahead of him. Pitt's talent level had fallen to that of a 1-AA program.

OK, if anyone knows who that game was against and what the score was i'd appreciate it.. This isnt to be mean, its seriously for no other reason than i think about it every once in a while and dont remember the opponent or the point total.
