HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL C.Ridge 71, Fannett-Metal 44

NEW PARIS - Brian Barefoot broke the all-time scoring record at Chestnut Ridge as he scored a game-high 29 points and led the Lions to a victory over Fannett-Metal on Friday.


The previous record was 1,462 points held by Ryan Emerick.

A 6-foot-1 senior, Barefoot has 1,482 points, including 490 he scored last season.

Central Cambria 61, Central 38

MARTINSBURG - Augie Rodkey scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds as Central Cambria defeated Central in the LHAC.

Matt Mesaros had 18 points for the Red Devils (5-1, 1-0). Chad Saylor led Central (2-4, 0-1) with 19 points.

St. Maria Goretti 66, B.McCort 47

HOLLIDAYSBURG - St. Maria Goretti outscored Bishop McCort 19-2 in the third quarter and Gene Johnson had 20 points in a win over McCort in first round of the Hollidaysburg Tournament.

Pete O'Connor led the Crimson Crushers with 16 points.

Coudersport 74, Bishop Carroll 64

ST. MARYS - D.J. Maynard led the Falcons with 23 points, Ryan James added 18 and David Babcock and Jake Aker each had 11 as Couders-port defeated Bishop Carroll at the St. Marys Tournament.

Joel Takacs had 22 points, and Jeff Minemeyer had 16 for the Huskies.

J.Christian 62, Turkeyfoot 55

TIRE HILL - Tyler Todd scored 20 points, and Brady Griesheimer had 14 as Johnstown Christian defeated Turkeyfoot Valley. Jeff Tuck added 12 points for the 4-1 Blue Jays.

Bill Hinzy had a game-high 25 points for Turkeyfoot, and Tim Wass had 12.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL N.Cambria 58, Blairsville 17

BLAIRSVILLE - Lindsay McCombie scored a game-high 20 points as Northern Cambria beat host Blairsville. Jess Valeria added 10 points, including three 3-pointers in the victory.

Westmont 64, Johnstown 16

Kelly Britcher scored 18 points, a dozen of them in the first quarter, and Allison Buchan scored 11 of her 13 in the first half for visiting Westmont, which got 11 from Katie Lintner.

Penns Manor 45, Laurel Valley 43

NEW FLORENCE - Ashley Mattis converted a last-second layup to hand Penns Manor a narrow Heritage Conference win.

Emily McCombie had 15 points, nine rebounds and five steals to pace the Comets (5-1, 4-0).

Laurel Valley's Heidi Hollingsworth led all scorers with 16 points. Erica LaMantia added 13 for the Rams (2-3, 1-3).

Ferndale 47, Berlin 42

BERLIN - Sara McAteer scored 22 points and Nicole Folta added 19 as Ferndale beat Berlin.

Brittany Pryde led the Mountaineers with 16 points.

Rockwood 65, Portage 38

ROCKWOOD - Joanna Nist led the Rockets with 13 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Portage. Kayla Cramer added 11 points and eight rebounds. Nicole Baker scored 12 points and Courtney Pletcher added 10 points.

Krista Kerch's 15 points paced the Mustangs.

Conemaugh Township 61, Shanksville 32

SHANKSVILLE - Holly Muir had 16 points, and Tara Rehar, 13, as the Indians downed the Vikings.

Meagan Moust scored 11 points for Shanksville, which trailed 27-16 at halftime and tallied only four points in the final quarter.

United 48, Purchase Line 45

ARMAGH - Courtney Coleman scored 14 points and had eight rebounds and six blocked shots in United's comeback win. Jessica Bloom tallied 14 points, eight boards, seven steals and five assists for the 2-4 Lions.

North Star 51, Meyersdale 32

MEYERSDALE - The Cougars outscored the Red Raiders 21-8 in the opening quarter. Kaylee Walker led North Star with 11 points, while Brittney Danel and Cara Studer each had 10.

Vanessa Housel and Cassie Buterbaugh each scored seven points for Meyersdale.

Blacklick Valley 50, Shade 27

CENTRAL CITY - The Vikings limited Shade to only 11 first-half points in a road victory.

Whitney Warmus and Tasha Capruscia each scored 10 points in the win.

C.Heights 46, Forest Hills 44

SIDMAN - Amber Dubyak accounted for 17 points in Cambria Heights' victory over the Rangers. Sara Hoover added in 11 points.

Krista Tedjeske scored 12 for Forest Hills.

Windber 62, Salisbury 41

SALISBURY - Michelle George scored 32 points and went 17 of 21 from the free-throw line in the Ramblers win. Ashley Heinrich added 10 points in the opening quarter and finished with 17.

Sue Kolb led the Elks with 18 points, and Lindsey Otto had 11.

C.50, Turkeyfoot Valley 39

CONFLUENCE - Sam Pollino scored 21 points, and had 11 rebounds, seven steals and five assists for Conemaugh Valley. Kayla Brandle had 12 points, 19 rebounds and six assists.

Courtney Smith's 11 points led Turkeyfoot.

Bedford 53, Penn Cambria 36

BEDFORD - Stephanie Gibbons scored 13 points and had 12 rebounds in Bedford's win.

Jackie Garlock had 11 points and 10 boards. Katie Henderson collected eight assists to build on her record as Bedford's career assist leader with 350.
