NBC Boys & Girls Tournament Outlook

What are the thoughts on this weeks tournament games?

In particular, tonights battles vs our bigger neighbor to the north, Central?

My perspective is the boys, who lost a close encounter in Martinsburg that they felt they should have won, will have revenge on their mind and win by 12 at Williamsburg in a strange 4:45 start.

The girls probably do not have the experience to stick with the Dragonettes but it would be nice to see them put a scare into a Lady Dragon squad that those over in the Cove are telling me are underachieving so far this year. I'll say Central by 15 and hope the Lady Panthers can put a scare into them and keep it single digits into the fourth Qtr.

The Boys Tournament is wide open and Central is the girls tourney favorite.

I'll pick NB or Central (tonights victor) to win boys as Williamsburg and N.Cambria have a combined 3 wins this season.

Why does that game start at 4:45? I guess they want to clear the gym and re-sell tickets for the second game. That really stinks if it is the case.

I think the Lady Panthers will have a tough time against the Lady Dragons. However, I think the guys will have a better shot. I think NBC boys will pull it out tonight and go on to win the tournament tomorrow night. They've been playing pretty tough ball the past few games.

There is also a girls tournament. Williamsburg's girls team has the 6:15 start time.

I have the start times figured out.

NBC vs Central girls at 7:30ish means that fans of both teams can leave the boys game and head to the girls game on their way home if they choose to do so.

Williamsburg's fans could catch the gals game at 6:15, then head down for the 8:00 boys start on their way home.

Alright!!!!! Great job by the schools involved making things work for the fans...

oh....now I get it. Thanks

NB beat Central by 3. Central played with a 2-5 point lead for most of the game, and NBC finally took the lead late in the fourth to hang on.

NB Girls lost to a red hot Central squad by about 30. The difference was Central's 10 3-pointers, 6 of which came in the first quarter when they took a 23-14 lead and wore down with their depth and ran away from the Lady Panthers. Nevins with 19 points and numerous assists and steals had a great game and was very impressive. This team will be tough in the AA division of D6 in another year as they start all underclassmen.

Central was on fire in the first quarter as Head Roadie mentioned to me at the game. They came out on fire behind the 3-point line and never really got close after that. Central has a lot of talent on that team. They definitely have a bright future.
