There are a few other freshmen on the team too i believe, Brittany Bowser is one. The famous Brandon Bowsers younger sister. Def. some athletic ability there, she managed to get an honorable mention in soccer this year. There is another freshy...cant nthink of the name..perhaps someone could help me out.

Jen Long has the size to work under the boards, and Brittany "Thelma" Beach and Britt Bowser have pretty good ball handling skills and a decent shot.....Coach Brumbaugh has a few talented players coming through the next few years, lets just see if he can coach them to thier greatest ability....

Holy Geez, I went to a scrimmage last evening against Shanksville, and needless to say neither team impressed me to much. It seems like the girls were jsut running around with their heads up the #@$. One of the things that almost impressed me was the fact that the fans and the officials were actually getting into the game. IT WAS A SCRIMMAGE. But I am also hoping that the line up chosen for the start of the game last night is not the intended line up for the rest of the season. Two of the spots were fine Kristi Barton and Becky Shaffer played very well. Felicia also showed she half knows what she is doing, except that she couldn't read her man when she was playing defense. I know of one instance when the person sitting next me me said,"If your going to be here a while, count how many times she falls for that fake and she goes around her." And Unfortunatley the other two starters about made me vomit. Henry though she was Iverson out there, the only problem is shes not!! Through up 60 shots and only made 2. And Jen Long, people tell me shes the next Shawna Clark, please. No hands, no corrdination, no court vision. Geez, FORGET JV THIS YEAR AND SEND THE FRESHMEN BACK!!! They are not ready for varsity yet(PERIOD). I admit that I thought beech would be able to step up, though she was decent when she was in, she is not even ready yet. I believe the coach will make the right decision in the long run, as soon as Snowberger learns the plays and the team gets a little more shooting practice. I know most of you may say," It was only a scrimmage." But when I see a performence like this against a lowley team like shanksville it must be brought to peoples attention. If something isn't changed, I predict the girls only winning 7 games at most this season. ndndnt!!

Sto......7 games? geez, I was thinking 3 if Brumbaugh doesn't get things together.....Kristi Barton, Shaffer, Brittany Bowser and Britt Beach are the only ones who know what they are doing really.....no one impressed me that much thou....let things set in and Britt Bowser and Britt Beach will be pretty good.......Moose, Becky and Laine really need to step it up and lead this team, as of now no one is really leading the team it seems, they are not passing well, shooting well, or playing good D......I hope to see dramatic changes soon.....good luck..

Are the Freshman ready? NO Does Coach Brumbaugh have a choice? NO Need to preserve the integrity of the program and play a JV schedule. Coach Brum is in a major "rebuilding" mode right now and if he wins 7 games he should be "Coach of The Year" He has what unfortunately was passed on to him from the previous staff where there was absolutely NO player development going on....Case in point, where any of last years players actually better as SR's then they were in 9th grade? NO Is there some mprovement among the younger kids that Coach Brum was trying to develop last year? YES Case in point is Becky Shaffer, she's become a better all-around player and a smarter player...Kristi Barton seems to understand her role (strengths/weaknesses) better than she did in pre-Brumbaugh era...and these FROSH though not ready now, will improve dramatically thru the season and help the Panther girls program get closer to being competitive again next year as opposed to the alternatve (keeping them in JH) and probably not being competititve till '05-'06.

Give the coach a break!.. Hes new.. and of what I am reading, it doesnt seem as Nb has many/or any leaders at all right now.. So I think that its time to stop blaming everything on the new coach, and start laying some of the blame onto the older players

For once I was not ripping on the coach!!! I simply stated that there is a better line up for the team, and I knowthat Coach will realize this and make the right changes, and I stand by my prediction of 7 games this season.

I also attended the scrimmage friday, it was sad. and roadie is right, this is rebuilding, the freshmen need the varsity expierence. Not just the freshmen but juniors also
Shaffer is a junior adn she doesnt have that much expierce in the varsity game. Friday she went over to the coach and told him she sucked. This is lack of confidence. I think seven games is a lil steep myself...but i am not makin a prediction. I was anxious to see what snowberger had but i hear she was just rolled her truck last week and had a concusion and that was her first day back so she was holding back.
The goal this season isnt so much winning, but improving for next year.

What a game last night. Northern Bedford at Southern Fulton. The score was 41-41. 5 second left an Brittany Beach gets fouled. She goes to the lie for two shots. The first one clank, the second, FALLS! But wait, a whistle? her foot was on the line. SF ball, Northern is in a full court press? What the? Ball to half court, #30 for SF I believe it was one of te sisters of Will Whiteside. puts it up for threeee, it put a dent in the backboard and went in. 44-41 SF. What a shot to the gut. the panthers who le by 5 with three min. to go would not slow it down. Kristi Barton led the panther offense with 21 points and is now averaging about 19+ per game. Britta Snowberger played one of the best defensive games I've ever seen, guarding the Indians star player who was also averaging just a litle over 19 a game, and held her to 6 pts. I believe. Seeing some definant improvment form her. What a game and what an effort. It was a lack of experience that lost this game for the girls, the underclassmen just weren't prepared for a situtation like the one they were in. Barton was the only one on the court who seemed to know what to do.
