The Hoyas won 67-64.

In other news, PSU also got HAMMERED by Mich State.

Uconn lost to undefeated BC.

Undefeated WVU lost to Villanova.

Pitt needs to wake up and start playing some bball, bc with their easy schedule....they need to be winning these easy games to keep ppl of their back. I like pitt, but they may be a tad bit overrated as of now

Pitt's hoops team is definitely overrated. I really felt prior to the season that we'd be a 9-7 team in the BE.

On the bright side for Pitt---check out some of the other BE scores from tonite---WVU loses by 38 at Villanova and UConn loses at home to BC.

However, I did NOT expect consecutive home losses to Bucknell and BE bottom feeder Gtown.

Horrendous defense (both half court and transition D), and lousy play by the post players has hurt Pitt the most...and Taft thinks he's an NBA lottery pick???? He's been horrendous this season.

Also, Krauser's selfishness and his insistence on re-creating an "AND1" Mix Tape while trying desperately to audition for the NBA every game is hurting the team. Heck, a lot of people want to blame Yuri Demetris for the problems, but he's been the most solid and fundamentally sound player and best defender on the team to this point, although he's not a scorer like he was at Shaler Area HS when I watched him name his point total every night for 4 years and once score 10 points in a span of 25 seconds.

Pitt needs to get things righted and fast, or it'll be a low seed at the BE Tourney and an NIT game...

This will be the first difficult times that coach dixon has experienced as the head man. It will be interesting to see how the team responds.
right now they could use a dose of the "refuse to lose" mental toughness last year's seniors brought to the game.

Pitt thought they were just going to cruise until they got deep into the conference schedule and they are just one game into it and they allready have 2 losses I can see them getting seven or eight more they may be a 6 or 7 seed in the tourny.

 we got some good posts on college basketball. i would say most of what ppl say here is fair.

i hate pitt, yet i still plan on seeing them in the ncaa tourney. they have to make sure to get at least 20 wins by the BET b/c their rpi rating will not be good.

the big east is gonna be a scrap this year. pitt doesnt have the same defense it can rely on every game. uconn, my team, lost to a really good BC team last nite and needs to create some semblance of a half court offense. syracuse looks like the favorite right now, but a stretch will come when gerry mcnamara is not on his game and they will struggle. it will be an even playing field all year and the big east tournament will come down to who has learned the most from a tough conference scheduele.

i could go further into what i think of several teams in the big east, but i will wait for the season to progress to jump to conclusions.

the hoyas are back!!!! ive been a georgetown fan longer than alot of guys here have been alive (except titan) so i dont want any warnings. of course i also like penn state too. brandon bowman is a dang good player and the team is relatively young and will only get better. unlike psu they are able to get some decent recruits
