ok ok... so maybe we didn't have the best of seasons this year... we were a young team... and ppl never expected us to even get to the playoffs... nevertheless the semi-finals... so.. you have to give us some credit...

you keep trying to compare yourself to the teams that I played on, why? until you actually win a title...district or LHAC, then all your little records and 4.78 GPG dont mean squat! I'll make you a deal...if you do just one of the following four things, then you can start comparing yourself to previous years...
1) play in a district final
2)win a district final
3) beat a team that makes it to the STATE final
4) win an LHAC title
Unless you have anything that equals or betters one of those 4 things, then you have no argument.
Bedford does have a good team and with the JCP leaguers coming up, things are only looking better and better, there is no doubt in my mind that Bedford is capable of a district title within the next few years, but they haven't got it just yet, so until then. stop trying to prove yourself to me. Im 7,000 miles away and I still have a pretty good idea of what's going on back there.

you dont need 22 good players, you dont even need 11. you just need 11 people willing to work as a team. we had some completely non-athletic people starting varsity the years I played, but you just got to learn what the TEAMS strengths are and use them to the max. Another benefit is knowing your opponent. If you know their weakness(es) and are able to exploit it, then you will be unstoppable. The 2004/05 season, bedford was hosting somerset in the opening round of playoffs, although bedford was the higher seed, they were still the underdog, so a week before the game myself and otis went to somerset to watch them play against westmont, they seemed to be very solid except for 2 things,
1) their defense always angled away from the ball, the fullback on the side where the ball was would drop back and the opposite fullback would step way up, this opened up the switch like it was nothing
2) every attack/counter attack went through the same guy, EVERY one.
By exploiting those 2 areas, bedford won that game something like 5-1 i think. they just destroyed them.
so you see, you dont have to have the best players on the field, just as long as you can exploit your opponents weakness, you will be victorious.

obviously you didnt exploit their weakness, or if you did you didnt exploit it using your strenght. athletic competitions can be looked at in the same way as war. First you must know your strengths and weaknesses, then your enemies strenghts and weaknesses, you must then match up so that you are attacking their weak spots while at the same time defending yours. If you dont do this or do it incorrectly, then you will lose...just like you lost to Widge

just so you know, freak, you guys did not outplay ridge that game and it would have been hard to see their weaknesses not because they didin't have any but because ridge change their stratagy (at least a little) almost every game. (no, you didn't play bad that game either. it's just like if i'm losing in ping pong i say my eyes are burning and no, you didn't feel sorry for ridge after the game you felt sorry for yourselves...
