somerset county schools are like rodney dangerfield

Post by Wrasslerfan »

i can't understand why somerset county schools are always overlooked by the bedford county people.i believe somerset county schools have won districts 5 or 6 years in a row now.and if you don't know it , bedford and ridge are much larger than somerset county schools and even everett is larger than any somerset county school that wrestles. somerset county posters on this website give credit to bedford county wrestlers but bedford county posters never seem to reciprocate.remember, after districts we are all 1 team and should root for each other at regionals and states.i'm sick of people like eaglealum making fun of our district.and if you read this eaglealum i'll give you a prediction" me thinks n.s. knocks off forest hills AGAIN.

When have I made fun of your district? I may have gotten lured into a debate between the 2 dist.s but I doubt if I have made fun of any Dist. 5 school(at least not intentionally). Youz haf tu maick it dat far to upset anybody. Houz dat?

NS has already made it that far because they wrestle forrest hills every year in the regular season. The Match will be held in 2 weeks and i hope that they are still undefeated.

Actually, I believe Northern Bedford won districts in 2000.

You can't post about what you don't know about...so if the Bedford County fans don't post about Som Co, hound them for not being big enough fans of wrestling, not their ethics.

As for Eaglealum, he has some of the most intelligent, noteworthy posts and if he has ever said anything of the sort of D6 being better than d5...guess what, he's right!

I agree with 4him. Most of the people on this board don't see a lot of the Somerset schools. Some people will get a look at a few of the Somerset schools this weekend in the TCT. Maybe they'll be talked about more after that. I think all the wrestling fans on this board know that North Star has a very talented team even if they're not talked about a lot on here.

4-him you are half right, n. bedford was d-5 tournament champs and n.s. was d-5 dual meet champs in 2000. i was not putting bedford county posters down all i said was to give credit to all the good wrestlers in d-5. and i don't buy that the better wrestlers in bedford don't know the somerset county wrestlers that well.most of these kids have wrestled against each other at one time or another since peewees.the point i was trying to make was that i,m proud of all of d-5 teams and root for all of them at regionals and states. i think from my posts you can tell where my team loyalty lies. which ever team wins the district duals next weekend will get my 100% support to be the state champ. i don't think a high place at states is out of the question for ridge or n.s. over the next 2 years. both schools rosters are made up of mostly underclassmen. 11 on n.s.

When I was in HS, I knew the Som Co wrestlers and I would speak my piece about them. Now that I am out of HS, I don't know too many of them, but I still know a good many of the kids of Bed Co that I grew up wrestling with. I'm not sure how many wrestlers are actually posting, so that may be why...I don't know. But we have you and other Som Co fans to inform us on your guys, so it doesn't matter.

If you read this site, its Bedford County bias. Not a problem. Once in a while the goobers post some insight over the mountain to Somerset County's right. I don't mind most of the garbage that is posted on this site, but I have to say enough is enough. I highly suggest Somerset County folk establish their own website. You might see some clear-sighted intuition towards District V wrestling. Yo Bedford County fans, when your not slashing tires, knocking over cows and whatever else you do for kicks in Bedford County, there is some good wrestling happening in Somerset County called North Star, the constant in D5 wrestling!!
Oh by the way Districts Duals are at Chesnut Ridge this year so park your car over in Somerset County that way your tire won't get slashed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once again, people can only post about what they know about, so aparently we just need more Somerset County members. A lot of us got to see some Som Co wrestlers this past weekend, so maybe we can mention some of your boys now...I'll start...

I only saw consi-finals from about 160 up and then the finals, so I'll speak about what I saw:

Tony Lascari- as I have always thought, he has the best technique of any of the Lascaris...definitely has state medal potential again

Chris Lascari- hard nosed with raw talent...not quite the technique of Tony, IMO...could very well make it to Hershey depending on who is in his weight

Bert Horner- strong and has some good stuff, but just seems to need better conditioning and a better head about him...he definitely has Hershey ability, but he has to keep it there mentally if he is going to reach his potential

D'carrion- his strength and talents have been well displayed, as has his weakness: his conditioning...however, I think he is better conditioned this year

Lepley- good wrestler, not quite strong enough for 189
