Carmelo Anthony is better. At least he was smart enough to further his education atleast a little bit before he went pro. He'll at least have something besides a shoe contract to fall back on.

How will one year of college give him something to fall back on? Personally I'd rather have a $90 million shoe contract to fall back on then one year of college.

I think it a more difficult decision then that, however I believe James made the right one, It would be nice to go to college one year, rip people up, and bring home a Tourney Championship before your NBA career, but James is right were he needs to be, and an excellent athlete.

No one will EVER be able to match Jordan's every night preformances. He was and will always be the best player ever.

Going to college might have ruined his chances at the NBA. What if he goes to college and is immediately on academic probabation and can't play? Or he has a career ending injury, which could also happen in the NBA but atleast he has some money already in his pocket then. I say if an athlete has the chance to go to the pros straight out of high school: go for it! If things fall apart, atleast you have the cash to go to college now.

Having an actual education, or at the very least as a start on one, is in my opinion something that you should have before going Pro in anything. Yeah, one year isn't a lot, but its a start. Who knows....he could have a career ending injury and what is he gonna do then? The 90 million dollar shoe endorsement wouldn't hurt, but that's gonna be over when he can't promote them. Might as well have SOMETHING you can use and can't lose to fall back on.

Not everyone is that lucky. My friend Lauren really wanted to go to the military as a career, but can't because she tore her ACL at basketball camp a while back. She wouldn't be able to make it through basic.

Nah. There are people out there that are born into extreme wealth that do nothing but sit on their backsides all day and drink champagne and eat caviar. There aren't many of those in the world, but there are a few.
