Is it O.K., for sporting events to be played & viewed during Holly & Holiday seasons ??

Pros first:

I guess if your not a religious person it wouldn't matter.

Sports & religon are two different things & shouldn't be mixed.

I gives people something to do & watch during such times.

It's a FREE WORLD

The bookies see no harm in it....

God may not even care...

CONS:

There should be respect for Christianity sake during such times.

Your mind should be focused on other than sports Easter & Christmas only come once a year for A day.

Why couldn't they re-schedule around these Holly times ??

How can you even think about watching sports on T.V. when there is a guy who is hanging on a cross for you & Me...


What is more important today Sports or GOD ??

Why can't you fill the churches up like you can the arenas for sports ??

The Bookies will have a front seat in HELL, for doing what thety do. Whew !!!!

Ill be the first to admit im not the most religious person and I think that sports should be played on Sundays as long as it wouldnt force kids to miss church. I dont think they should be able to play on holidays. A holiday only comes once a year but there are 52 Sundays to play on. This would also help for rescheduling games.

Maybe, but if you do it for Christianity, you must also do so for every other religion, as none are greater then others in this wonderful country of ours.

I think it was Shawn Green of the Dodgers who refused play on Yom Kippur this year. Many seasons back Sandy Koufax did the same and refused to pitch a world series game that fell on Yom Kippur.

It's hard to imagine what would happen if the best players on any of the college basketball teams scheduled to play the regional final on Easter Sunday refused to suit up.

for the pro's, sure. it's great, in ireland st .patricks day is actually a religous holiday and they have a big ol parade and play some big sports event (soccer i guess). here we drink green beer and claim to have irish ancestors. :roll: but for the kids no way! especially sunday. that day is for church. but if they ever do play the youth sports on sundays ,they will be missing some of the best athletes available. (my kids)

Tough call.

I really dont see the harm in it. People can make a personal decision to play or not.

Then you always get into the old debate about what qualifies and what doesnt.
