WIAND would bring leadership to this team. He is not a bad player He is a tremendous hustler. His outside shot really came on last year. he would be a huge asset to this team. Hate seeing him not play He was a scrapper and hustler.

I never said Wiand was terrible. I said that he may not be a huge asset - especailly if he really doesnt' want to be there. There's a lot of work involved if your hearts not in it. It's not golf or anything, but tough work nonetheless. His absence will open the door for underclassmen to get needed playing time.

the team had an open gym last night and it went well from what i here.....Matt Shaffron, a sophmore, looks to have a load on his back with Rodland out due to oral surgury.......i think the kid can pull through at point and he is definetely better than Jared Wiand......I heard Wiand is not playing basketball to get ready for the upcoming baeball season...the Panther baseball team will be a force this year even though they lost some great kids from last year

SHaffaron is not better than Wiand. yes he can handle the ball and he will be pretty solid. He can not play defense like wiand. wiand is not afffraid to be physical and he can handle the ball. Shaf needs to get into the weight. He will get pushed around this year. It is just a sahme wiand not out to lead this young team this year.

There gonna be fine with out Wiand, though he is a close friend of mine, he made his decision not to play so we gotta deal with that. What is all this talk about Shaffron taking the point? My money says that Rodland will be taking over that position this season. Shaffron is to iffy on his decision making skills, he is way to unexperienced right now to take on a starting role at point guard. No one is saying he doesnt have the talent, just give him a season to get down the basics of varsity basketball.

Listen, Rodland is gonna be at the point and that's that. He'll be back practicing next week. If Wiand doesn't want to play then he doesn't so GET OFF IT and get on with your lives. I would also like to say that I think we looked alot better than I thought we would at the open gym last night. I think we're gonna do all right this season.

If Wiand doesn't go out then he just wasted two years of his life plain and simple. I hate seeing kids stick it out for a couple years then quit when their opportunity knocks. With or without him, good luck guys
