other AA teams

I definitely think Central has a chance to contend for the AA title. Right now, I think BG is the favorite; they have a lot of talent coming back.

Westmont would be right there, if not better, but their tall sophomore, Buchon, is out for the year--I believe anyway. With her there, Westy would have probably been my favorite--her and Britcher would have been dominating with their perimeter players. They have many girls that can shoot but no true penetrating pointguard. Also, Westy has a new coach who is excellent; they might suffer some losses early on but by districts, they will be a force to contend with. I believe they return everyone but one or two players.

Richland loses a lot--Krisher. I think they will be competitive with Skiles and Anderson but don't think they will be able to repeat as AA champions.

Northern Cambria has some excellent talent, but they are very young: three sophomores starting. Still, those sophomores saw a lot of playing time last year and their team should be a threat depending on how their bench plays. They are not very deep at all. They probably should have beat Richland last year in AA quarters, were winning the whole game until the end of the third quarter when the Lady Rams went on a 10-0 run with some questionable substitutions.

I hear Penns Valley lost a lot from last year, while Southern Huntingdon has most of their team back--don't know much about them though. Marion Center, the team Central lost to last year right?, lost a lot of seniors. They have some good young players back but aren't that fast.

Williamsburg Tip-off Tourney is tomorrow.(Friday) Central girls play Bellefonte. Bellefonte is going to be good this year, better than last year. I think they have all of their girls back this year like Central does. The first games are Central vs. Bellefonte and W-burg vs. United. My picks are Central over Bellefonte and W-burg over United. Central will then beat W-burg in the championship. Any other oppinions?

Good Luck to all teams! :)
