One for the Old Timers

I know it's not college or pro, but I'm putting it here 'cause I don't know where else to put this.
I wanted to say congrats to Jim "The Flying Cowboy" Kennedy for winning the Sprint car race at Bedford on Friday. Now, it takes nerve to drive a sprint car, and for a 71 year old to run away from the youngin's like he did was pretty impressive. It was well worth the price of admission to see him win one at Bedford and get a standing ovation. And the yodeling wasn't too shabby either.

For those of you who don't know, an Outlaw Sprint has the the same engine as a Cup Car, but way lighter, way way lighter, i never seen him race, but congratulations.
Like Ham says below, his wasn't that fast
Anyone ever been to Eldora?

Not those sprints, the World of Outlaws have MORE horses under thier hood, but the 305 sprints that Kennedy was running is the equivilant of the speed of a late-model or slightly slower.
I didn't make it up to the races on Friday because no lates were there, but it seems that I missed a great showing by one of the best drivers in the area's history.

The "OUTLAW" sprints, like Kinser, Swindell, Lasoski, etc, are the '400' sprints. There also is a lesser powered sprint, the "358" class. The Outlaws, I believe, make about 800 horsepower in a 600 Lb. car. On alcohol. Real speed and power comes from NHRA and NITRO!!!

As Ham stated these were 305 sprints. I'm pretty sure Jim had a 358 sprint, but not sure if he still does. He was driving both at one point last year.
Never been to Eldora, but heard it's quite an experience. I've seen the Outlaws at Williams Grove and Hagerstown. All that power is fun to watch.
My dad has a streetrod with about 750-800 hp. I'm too nervous to drive it, even if he would let me. One of those outlawed NASCAR "Cammer" engines.
