ESPN's pregame show before Penn State's upset of Ohio State last Saturday night drew a record audience, and the game itself was the second-most watched of any regular season matchup on the cable network.
The Nittany Lions' 17-10 victory averaged 4,435,000 households and a 4.9 rating. Only the Florida State-Miami game on Oct. 8, 1994 drew a bigger audience.

Second biggest EVER! SEC and everyone else take note... I think PSU will get one night game a year at home now. The Nebraska and Miami games from a few years back also did very well for other home night games.

If FH had not moved their game with CC to saturday night, it might have been #1. Who knows.

On Oct 1st, the USC-Arizona St game drew a 4.9 rating and a 12 share for ABC. And get this, the game started at 12:30 Pacific time, 3:30 Eastern time. So it wasn't even a night game!!!! Good thing for ESPN that it wAs an UGLY weather night on the East Coast last saturday night. I mean, what else was there to do?

I can honestly say I watched the game. It was a great game. PSU got the job done, too. PSU should get some more big games at night. As long as they keep up the great play like last weekend, they should get some big games on ESPN.

But do they play GREAT opponents at home on a consistant basis to GET the BIG Saturday night game on ESPN. I mean, PSU-Wisconsin just ain't gonna cut it. Of course there's always that BIG rivalry game vs Michigan State. Who wouldn't want to see that????

Hahahaha. Great point, Moldo, but you know you're getting ripped on for that comment. Remember Pitt is only 2-4. They made a BCS game last year. However, PSU is so great because they may actually make one this year.

Moldo is right, PSU has total control over who they play and when in the Big10 schedule.

More stats are out concerning last Saturday's game. A poll was conducted at Beaver Stadium Saturday by Citizens Against Christian Activity, and the organization was thrilled with the results. According to the poll, only 11.3% of those attending the PSU-OSU game would be attending church or a religious activities this weekend. "We are elated by this", said organization President Ross Oowedge. "We're for anything that keeps people out of church." The CACA poll has a 3.5% margin of error.

THERE WENT YOUR GREAT OPPONENTS ARGUEMENT EL MOLDO.
Oh by the way what was the ratings of the Pitt-ND night game. 2/3 of them were probably ND fans.

And let's not forget that since this is conference play, PSU will play at Ohio State in 06 and 08, and at Michigan this saturday and in 07. When do they play at South Bend?
