The rich get richer

I had the opportunity to engage in conversation with a total stranger today. He noticed I was wearing a FH windbreaker, so started a conversation with "How's the Rangers doin' this year?" That kind of thing. We talked about FH a little, then he told me he was a Tyrone Eagles fan. When I told him Tyrone would probably beat us, should we meet in the playoffs, he gave me some unsolicited information. It seems not only was Tyrone returning another powerhouse this year, but 2 kids from Bish. Tinfoil transferred to Tyrone. Private -to- public. Imagine that. One of them is Coach Franco's son. Imagine that. Also, a player from Altoona has transferred into Tyrone. Imagine that. The beat goes on. I'm sure all of these new-bies are going to Tyrone because of their MENSA prep programs. > I never met the man before, I probably will never see him again. Why should he lie to me, a total stranger? An interesting encounter, to say the least.

At least if you transfer to Tyrone you are going to play for a guy who is respected and runs his program the way a top notch program should run.

There is no comparison between Franco and Salem.

Still voting DEMOCRAT? You're "stuck on stupid"!

The rich get richer?

You can't have it both ways, Pale Rider.

One line was a figure of speech, "the rich get richer", to signify that a perennially-top football team was getting even more talent to come and play for them. The other line, "Still voting Democrat- you're stuck on stupid", has nothing at all to do with sports. It pertains to American politics. Since you said absolutely nothing regarding the rich getting richer, I must assume that you are indeed, stuck on stupid. Thank you for sharing that with all us posters. I would now be ashamed to admit I'm from Windber, if I were you.

I was just amused by the use of your aphorism "the rich get richer", which is tragically ironic given the moronic and obnoxious tag line at the bottom of all of your posts. Then you had to get offensive and insulting. I'll NEVER be ashamed to admit that I'm from Windber, and that is my last word on this subject.

If you had nothing to say about the topic, OK. But you chose to attack my signature line, probably because it is the truth. Did I go out of my way when I first came on the BC to single you out because I thought your handle was "ridiculous"? No. As far as 'the rich get richer', what do you suggest I should have used instead? "Aphorisms", "tragically ironic", "moronic" & "obnoxious". Obviously you are well educated. It's to your detriment your skin isn't a little thicker. Anybody who posts anything on this forum, as long as it's not foul-language-laced or racial-hatred motivated, or? has to expect that sooner or later someone will reply or comment on it. As those who say the rich get richer, also say, if you dish it out, you better be able to take it too. I apologize for the little 'Windber crack'. Hmmmm. Maybe that's not the best pairing of two words. Geez, you can't say anything these days. I apologize to ALL my WINDBER friends out there. I do have more than 1.

Point taken, Pale Rider. I can agree to disagree in a civil manner. What's ridiculous about my handle? I travel a lot.
