Read in the Tribune yesterday that Ed DeChellis has removed the names of players from the back of PSU basketball jerseys for this year. Said the only name that matters is on the front of the jersey. Thoughts?

Maybe the players petitioned him and said they didn't wanna be known as the guy who lost the game against Gannon or IUP-Punxatawney.

PSU has trouble recruiting in basketball as it is. How do you think potential recruits are going to feel about anonimity.

harder to be taunted w/out a name being shown, maybe its just a way of protecting their feelings?

There's so many foreigners on their team, they probably can't get the whole names on some of the jerseys. And who would taunt GOOD players anyway. Wouldn't their play speak for itself?

J.J. Redick is possibly the best 3 point shooter in the nation, and the amount of taunting he recieves on away trips is unbelieveable. Your theory doesn't work here.

Heck, I wish Penn State had more good players that fans would even bother to taunt!

EVERY away player gets taunted just about. I thought he meant getting taunted by his own fans. Does my "foreigner" theory work?

Ever hear the story of how Foreigner got their name? There's a guy in their band from Canada. So no matter where they play, someone is a foreigner. Is it my opinion that this is the point where someone in that room should have stuck a knife in every member of that band.
