It's been 9 whole days since anyone, incl. myself, had anything to say in this topic. Frankly, I'm dissappointed in the liberals on here. No new dirt to dish on GW? What's Cindy up to? Billary? Moveon.org? Harriet WHO? New Orleans Democrats with their hands out? Wait- I hear "WILMA" will be making the scene real soon. Maybe she will shake something loose.

Firstly, Fla. has been through this so many more times that they have their recovery systems in place and actually practice what to do in an emergency, unlike La. and N.O. Secondly, JEB Bush is in CHARGE, unlike La. Dems waiting for rescue and relief from FEMA and the Government, who, much to the po folk's whining in N.O., do not come in immediately after a disaster to help. The individual STATES must ASK for the big boys, and Fla. has shown they have it together and don't need the same "help" La. was whining about. Fla. responds to its own natural disasters, and unless it's on the scale of H. Andrew 10 years ago, they usually don't ask for the Fed help. And thirdly- few po blacks compared to rich white folks? Have you seen the numbers lately for just hispanic immigrants? It'll knock your socks off.

Wow, if we had known this last year, we could have saved the federal government 1.7 billion dollars!
Florida Federal Disaster Relief
I think you said it best when you said Florida has JEB Bush. We all know you get better service when you have connections in high places.

You also get better performance from your own people when their leaders don't have their heads up their collective asses.

I believe he also forewarned EVERYONE to stock up with 3 days supply of necessities. Now I'm not a betting man - wait, yes I am - anyway, but I'll bet that those complaining about not getting what's "owed to them" didn't heed that warning.
And ain't it nice to see a politician stepping up and shouldering the blame, even if a bunch of nitwits didn't heed his advice. When's the last time you saw a Democrat do that?

He's gotta keep the pressure off of his brother...GW has a bit more to worry about right now with the possible indictments of his staff.
But the point was this.....Florida was supposed to have their act together after having been through it so many times. Apparently that is not quite true.

In all fairness to Florida, would any place, no matter how many times they've been through it, have their act together? Florida should have it pretty well down, but there are ALWAYS going to be unanticipated shortages and such, and stupid people who didn't listen to good advice.
