P.I.A.A. Saturday Football Finals...
12/4/2005 - The Road to Hershey is over as all four title games are set for next weekend. Here are the five final scores in the P.I.A.A. Semifinals from Saturday afternoon.

P.I.A.A. CLASS (AAAA) SEMIFINALS:

McKeesport Tigers 14 - Bishop McDevitt Crusaders 13 {F} (MSA)

Liberty Hurricanes 14 - North Penn Knights 12 {F}

(McKeesport will play Liberty in Finals)


P.I.A.A. CLASS (AA) SEMIFINALS:

South Park Eagles 28 - Reynolds Raiders 2 {F} (MSA)

Wilson Warriors 33 - Montoursville Warriors 32 {F}

South park will play Wilson in finals


P.I.A.A. CLASS (A) SEMIFINALS:

Southern Columbia Tigers 41 - Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers 7 {F}

Southern Coloumbia will play Duquesne in Finals.

Two of the four W.P.I.A.L. champions who were in action on Friday night are on their way to Hershey. Both Franklin Regional in (AAA) and Duquesne in (A) advanced to the state finals with impressive victories on impressive performances on P.I.A.A. Semifinals Friday.

Robby Armstrong - Franklin Regional

Playing in weather that only a mailman would challenge, Armstrong helped deliver Franklin Regional to the Class (AAA) state championship game. The senior running back rushed for 201 yards and scored on touchdown scampers of 21 and 32 yards as the Panthers magical postseason ride continued with a 27-21 victory over the General McLane Lancers.

Layton Dunn - Duquesne

On a night where the weather and the opposing defenses forced a combined 19 turnovers, Duquesne's leading rusher wasn't spectacular but was able to hold on to the ball and pound out 189 yards on the ground as the Dukes smashed the Coudersport Falcons 33-2.

Deja-Vu from last week. The Dukes have not allowed a point in two state playoff games...plus they were directly responsible for 4 of the 5 touchdowns for the Dukes on:
* 21-yard interception return for a score by Chris McCall
* 45-yard interception return for a score by Shon Taylor
* 27-yard interception return for a score by Pete Hawkins
* Fumble recovered in the end zone for a score by Layton Dunn

Pottsville Crimson Tide 14 - Manheim Central Barons 9 {F}
