I was never a big fan of Northern getting the fence in the outfield. It's nice, don't get me wrong, I just liked the idea that you could hit the ball in the gap and it could go forever. But yea, NB's field is alot nicer since it got worked on a few years back. I gotta agree with Cube on McConnelsburg's field, that field is probably the nicest I ever played on, everything about it is pretty dang nice.

It sucked in Jr. High because I wasn't as good at the 'ol drop and block...after that though I didn't mind it as much. You have to admit that running uphill to first and downhill to home was the best!! Even a person of my speed could get close to stealing home because of the downhill advantage!!

i never really like bedfords field....first the outfield was really crappy...and 2nd the fence is way too short for high school ball
It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone.

The fence is definitely short, and the outfield was rough (i think gunner explained why that was).... but when it comes to infields, Bedford's was probly my favorite 2 play on. I hated playing on dirt infields. It seems like every other hop was a bad one. I never saw many of those at bedford on my half of the infield anyways.

On a side note McConnelsburg has a very nice facility.

The only thing that annoys me about Bedford's infield is the huge dip where the dirt starts at 1st base. Other then that it's usually soft and gives good hops!

I like Bedfords field, but the distance from homeplate to the backstop is that of a little league field......it's too close......other than that bedford's field is great...

4 im not real sure what kind of hops your getting over there at first base but i can promise iv seen my fair share of bad hops at third base...that position can be treacherous at the bedford field...

Amen to that scubed. The lip edge there used to be absolutely terrible. They improved it last year so now it's just bad. Needs to be flat...way to much of a lip on the grass/dirt transition.
