And the best conference in College Football is...

Earlier this year I created my system to rank the best conference in college football and here is my final product.

-Every team in the Top 25 gets there conference a point. Every 5 spots receives another point. The #1 team gets 1 more point.

-Every team to reach a bowl game gets 1 point unless it is a BCS game then they get 2 points.

-Every team with 10 wins gets their conference 1 point.

-If a conference has 11 teams they get deducted 1 point. 12 or more gets deducted 2 points. (The more teams there are the more teams there are to score points)

-If a team only wins 3 or 4 games -1 point for that conference. 1 or 2 wins -2 and a winless team -3.

-A bowl win gets a conference 1 point. If it is a BCS bowl or the conference champion won their bowl 2 points and the National Championship win gets 3 points.

-If a non-BCS bid conference get 2 teams in the Top 25 a bonus point is awarded.

i don't think you put enough emphisis on bowl wins... i think the ACC won the most bowl games...correct me if i'm wrong there, and they're the #4 conference, need more emphisis on winning that bowl game, cause that's all everyone looks at anyways, especially on this board...

If the ACC would not have a conference championship they probably would have finished 2nd but having VT lose and Flordia State get the BCS bid killed them.

How many points do you think I should award for a bowl win?

You can not award to many because a team does well (Notre Dame, Georgia, USC) and gets a good team in a bowl and lose a hard fought game they will punish their conference unlike a team that gets a poor bowl and wins it.

there are probably three games that PSU fans and non-fans remember from this past season

1) Win over OSU
2) Loss to Michigan
3) Win over Florida State

those three are the big games that basically made the season for PSU, that's basically what the AP and coaches look at and remember... all i'm saying is that the bowl game is the one that really matters, take a look at the Steelers last season 15-1 in the regular season right? who cares? they didn't win their last game of the season...
