I was just wonderin who you guys think will win the meet today and what predictions you have for it. There are a lot of top athletes up for show today. A lot of the athletes have been to states already and should perform well. A few people i personally want to see perform are John Marshall and Mike Tomovich. These two should have a tight competition in the triple jump. I also want to see how that lightner does as well as webb from windber. Good luck to all teams.

Ridge won the dual meet over bedford by like 2 points and won over windber by like 10. Ben Way set the school record tonight in the high jump at 6'7". That was awesome. Ridge dominated the jumps to win the meet and won some key races. What was the matter with the marshalls?? They seemed fine to me. Lets see if ridge can win county's as well as districts. They should have a shot at both. Will be very interesting to see what happens.

Too many things could have gone either way. Exciting meet all around.

Marshall seems like he can pick and choose when he competes from what I was hearing. Run an 11.3 but is too hurt to jump seems questionable to me.

Way's high jump was awesome. Jumps are what won it for Ridge. The Lions only won 2 races all meet.

I have it on good source that John Marshall and Derrik Harris should be at almost 100% by the time districts rolls around, so don't be counting your chickens before your eggs hatch there young gun.

Harris might not want to risk hurting that same foot for the 4th time in meaningless highschool track when he has football money on the line from Maine. Just a thought...

I agree with Ham. How could you chance the scholarship you already have for one season of track? 3 casts in 3years would make me nervous. Of course the 100m is not that strong this year. He would probably stand a good chance of winning that, if he can return to full strength.

I'm guessing Marshall's injury allows him to run in less pain than it is to jump with it and does not risk aggravating it so much. If his injury is the same one he had last year.

I would think someone of his caliber would jump if it was in his best interest.

Yeah, so in other words, if Derrick Harris is looking out for his best interests (playing for Maine under a scholarship), then he might not want to do too many events in track, or maybe even quit it entirely, and concentrate on staying in prime condition for playing football for the Black Bears in the fall.

Interesting that you should say this. Correct me if im wrong, but if you stay on the sidelines for as long as young mr Harris has, wouldnt that put you pretty out of shape? im sure the guy is still in decent shape becuase he is a natural athelete, but wouldnt it also be in his best interest to work on getting his speed, strength, and stamina up before he heads up north? what better way to do that than on the track team?

what better way to hurt an already thrice injured foot than long jumping. I think Derrick, with the help of his coaches and parents, will do what's in his best interest.
