PSU Ticket Office Pulls A PSU Ticket Office.

As I'm sure some of you know, Your Literary Hero's father has had season tickets at Penn State since 1977. He did not go to Penn State for college. Every year, the ticket prices go up, even though the stadium has had about 50 upgrades since then, and more people are in the seats almost every season. A few years ago, as far as I know, a dirty rumor started going around that they wanted to get every non-alumnist out of that stadium and give the season tickets to the alumni. They started doing a "optional donation" for the tickets every year, which is a substantial amount of money. I dont know the exact price, but I know that on a yearly basis my father and his cohorts are each dishing out a sum of money that is substantial, and have been since the seventies, only to be shown appreciation by the university in the form of "how about you donate some more money if you want those seats again?" But it doesn't just stop there. They decided it was time to not only jack the price and donation, but also to break up the clusters of fans who have been sitting together since God knows when. My family made a lot of friends at Beaver Stadium and shared a lot of memories with those sitting around us. Well, none of those people sit by eachother anymore, which is fine, but just irritating and didn't really need to happen, and somewhat unfortunate. But whatever, that's fine.
So being that my dad knows everyone on earth, especially a lot of Penn State people, I called him about a week ago and asked him if he'd ask around at work and in his little Penn State circles if anyone had come across or were willing to sell any Michigan / PSU tickets, so we could get the jump on them now. I was looking for about 5-6 tickets, and everyone who wanted a ticket was willing to pay whatever the cost. My dad asked around with no luck, so he called the ticket office. They told him the truth: the tickets dont even become availible until July 7th I believe. That's fine. So my Dad took it on his own inititive, even knowing he could not get the tickets for over 2 more months, to tell them nicely that he has had had season tickets since 1977, and asked if there was any way he could maybe get a little edge on the tickets based on his loyalty. See, now all of a sudden the tickets ARE availible. She says, "oh wait a second... if you donate 450 more dollars, you can get on the top of the list for the tickets."
