The Twelve Days of Christmas.

Today I took the time out of my busy day of downloading the 'Night Court' theme to ponder something significant. A great quote struck me like a bolt of lightning. This great quote was brought to light by a great man and true American hero, Frostlion, who has shown on numerous occasions that his intellect and ingenuity is not often surpassed. This quote was from the Post-Gazette, and was probably written by known legend and credible source for all information Chico Harlan.
The two new bowls in the Big East lineup are the International Bowl, which will be played Jan. 6 in the Rogers Centre in Toronto and pit the Big East against the Mid-American Conference, and the Birmingham Bowl, which will be played Dec. 23 at Legion Field and matches the Big East against Conference USA.
This is a real travesty. I was hoping that the Big East would not get another bowl bid and would cling to that thin strand of hope for the mythical "Apple Bowl" which may or may not have ever been planned.
January 6th may be a great day. Twelve days after Christmas would be the 7th, a huge day of hangovers and celebration as the party from the night before draws to a close. What could Santa bring us this year? A few things. Let me tell you.
DECEMBER 23RD:
BIRMINGHAM BOWL
Pittsburgh vs. Southern Miss
This one has a lot of meaning to Your Literary Hero, who has been beating it into people's heads that Pitt sucks and USM is good. I have been saying for years that the Big East needed to go and get the best teams possible to fill those vacancies. Instead, Pitt went after Cincinnati, who as we know is on the verge of a national championship, if by "national championship" you really mean "2-10 season". Last time USM played Pitt? Won by like 5 touchdowns. This would just be a sweet victory for TAE to see USM beat Pitt again, right now.
JANUARY 6TH
INTERNATIONAL BOWL
Pittsburgh versus Toledo
What better way for a PSU fan to celebrate the end of the college football season than to see another MAC team beat Pitt, again, after the Pitt Bozo Nation repeatedly makes fun of PSU's OOC scheduling.
JANUARY 6TH
INTERNATIONAL BOWL
Pittsburgh versus Ohio
Does this even need explanation? I am keeping my fingers crossed that Frank "Scotch on the Rocks" Solich can defeat Pitt yet again. Would there be anything more hilarious during this entire season than to see Palko's last Pitt effort come in another loss to OHIO?
STAY TUNED!!!!

Easily this would go down as the greatest bowl game ever.

Re: The Twelve Days of Christmas.
I believe this would be an opportune time for a recent history lesson!
Let us start in:
2000 - UPS - No Bowl
2001 - UPS - No Bowl
2002 - UPS - Lost Bowl to Auburn (classic underachievement I believe no UPS tds)....this was a Nitwit squad loaded with pro players and played 3 highly ranked teams during the reg. season: Iowa, Mich & Ohio St....uh, they lost all 3 games so were we surprised @ the bowl loss, underachievement ??? No not at all!!!
2003 - UPS - No Bowl
2004 - UPS - No Bowl
2005 - This is your "saving grace" year as you actually beat some good teams and squeaked by an inept FSU team only 'cause their kicker choked worse than yours; in a game that set offensive fb back 30 yrs., or so!
I mean there it is in undeniable black & white.....You've had one decent year out of 6 yet all this smack????

Since when did delivery drivers start playing football? Or perhaps he means PSU, not UPS. But with this clown who knows!

Since when is 9-3 and a bowl bid not considered a "decent" year, and since when is a BCS bid and an 11-1 record just "decent"? Also, how is it that 1+1=1?

Re: The Twelve Days of Christmas.
I think what vman is trying to say is really quiet simple. If Pitt had one good year in the last several years and prior to that the entire national media was calling for a coaching change because the team was doing so badly. and then his favorite school team had one exceptional season and only one He would'nt be acting like his team were usc. but would rather take a wait and see approach and see if his team could somehow duplicate the success of the previous season and if not than he (vman) would have the courage to admit that it was a fluke and that a cross state univeristy with equal tradition and glory was certiantly a force to reconed with and be pleased that at least on team in the state had a future ahead instead of a bleak future once a very very old and senile rape advocate retires.uuuum I mean dies.

Since 2002 when you had the brothers Johnson Larry & Bryant, G Felder(8 yr starter @ ot), J Iorio ol, Landa ol, Schmitt ol, EZhood Smith ol, Z Mills, S McHugh fb. And more talent on D A Adams, J kennedy & M Haynes d line, Harrell, Gardner, Capone, B Scott, Mayer etc
This squad with numerous 1st round picks and experience all over the field played 3 difficult games that year: Iowa, Mich, & Ohio St. You were not paying attention in Recent Nitwit History Class....because you would've remembered they lost all 3 games then onto bowl game where they failed to cross goal line and lost to Auburn! Can you spell UNDERAHIEVEMENT 'lil nitwits? So 1 + totally embarrassing yr = 1, Yes!!!!!
And Gnr, you would not know a play on words (or acronyms) if it hit you in the face!

And a little aside; I think only punks call others things like clown from behind a keyboard! And retro dude, I am sure the play on 3 letters was a bit much for your feeble mind also! But I have my head up my a**? How would you know if you're swinging on Gnrs thing?
