Weigh In Rules...

Post by S Cube »

what does everyone think about the new rules that were implemented last year by the piaa for wrestling...if my memory serves me right, the wrestler can only wrestle 1 weight class above his certification, and half of his weigh ins during the season must be at his post season weight...any opinions?

I like it. It prevents kids like Jake Strayer for example wrestling at a weight all season and then suddenly cutting down a weight to make districts easier.

Stupid Rule

Post by Dep »

It is a stupid rule that hurts teams in dual meet situations, especially if you are a smaller school.

In my opinion, the rule was designed to keep kids from dropping quick, but like usual it is not working and really takes away from watch coaches can do to prepare for dual meets.
