Well i would say McConnellsburg is the strongest team in the league this year , with Fannett-Metal and Chestnut Ridge close behind them.
McConnellsburg`s biggest question mark would be at goalkeeper, and the same for Fannett-Metal.
Chestnut Ridge might have trouble scoring as Coty Hainsey will need help from his teammates.
Northern Bedford will be in for a long season although i could see them still on the fringe of district playoffs , but they will need some things to go their way for that to happen.
Hyndman can score some goals , but didn`t have a very good defense or a good goalkeeper last year.
Everett lost Banner Mann which will hurt them badly, but i still see them being more competitive than they used to be.
Forbes Road looks to be in a bit of trouble as well as they lost their sweeper in addition to losing Brandon Henry . Attitude problems seem to be a problem for this team , but that seems to be the case every year.

I also agree with crazy player. However i feel that Fannett Metal and McConnellsburg will be the teams fighting for the Sideling Hill title and CR will be a respectable third. The rest of the pack doesnt seem to have much of a shot unless somebody has improved tremendously in the off season. I look for it to be very close between FM and McCburg. Should be some great games between these two teams as their were last year.

F-M is primed for a big year this season. They have loaded up their non-league schedule with rockwood, west perry, and shippensburg. Look for a SHL title and a deep run in the playoffs. My concerns at this point are leadership and team chemistry. There are several solid players but will they gel together and care who gets the credit? I guess we'll see!

I respect Fannett-Metal and some of the players they have , but to be honest i saw the keeper they have right now and if they stick with him against McConnellsburg , well then burg will have a field day with them.
If they get a good keeper it will be a one goal game or possibly a tie both times they play, as for leadership i say look toward there junior class for a player that has developed into a really good player and has the right attitude and that would be Neil Hill.
On a side note want to see an interesting fence around a field check out Forbes Road`s new field.
They go from having a horrible field to a decent field , but it looks like a barnyard with that fence and that gate they have with it , boy talk about looking like well retarded.

Lets just hope fannett metal does find someone who will lead the time in the right direction. Not just on the field but also off. FM's soccer team has the best potential for winning the SHL this year compared to the years before. I look for Justin Yeager to step up and lead the team. Lets just hope these boys can keep their heads and play in their dream season! Good Luck to all

Kick Butt Girl

In response to fmchick. . .

fmchick,
you asked about kick butt girls in the sideling hill league this year. Well, look into Erin Chafardon from McConnellsburg. This young lady is quite talented. She made player of the week in the Public Opinion last year, a tough feat in itself. Not only did she make player of the week, but she was a sophomore. Also, it's tough to get this title when you are from a fulton county school and it is a franklin county paper.
