Yankees Walking Away With It (AL East)?

The Bronx Bombers take the first 4/5 in the second coming of the Boston Massacre; now a 5 1/2 game lead going soon into October, and still Sheffield and Matsui yet to return....
Personally, I think the Yanks do not have the pitching, but it's looking pretty good for them at this point in the AL East.

Wow, a 5 game sweep IN BOSTON. Their fans have to be sick right now... maybe they feel somewhat similar to Pirates fans. I doubt it though, haha.

I agree with you that it doesn't look like the Yanks have the pitching to get the job done but they look good as of now. The 5 game sweep was huge.
Even though they look good now they just don't seem to have the kind of team to get through a tough postseason. Mussina just went on the DL for a groin injury and Johnson is too incosistant. Wang is the best they have statistically this season and I think I have more post season experience then he does. Jaret Wright and Corey Lidle aren't good enough to carry a team through the post season or pick up the slack the others leave. The bullpen is nothing great except for Rivera. And even with Sheffield and Matsui coming back, it isn't easy to just jump off the bench and be a hitter again. It could take some time before they are back into the "swing" of things.
So I do agree that things are looking good for them now frostlion but when the post season rolls around I just have a feeling it will be a different story.
On another note. I really like the Tigers this year. Great pitching and solid leadership. I think they have a good shot.

Oh I agree completely. I think they carry the division, but post-season....
