Does everyone actually believe that the big-ten is a worhtless pathetic conference unable to field a competitive league, on the same token do you really believe that the big- east is comparable to the big-sky conference?

Actually the worst major conference this year is the Big 12. All three of their major teams has a loss and two of them lost bad Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma.

Being rational I would say yes, the Big 12 is really, really down overall...Colorado has fallen very fast, Nebraska isn't what they were, Oklahoma is losing to Oregon, etc.

Big Ten I feel is down also....too many very poor teams and only two really good teams.

Big East has improved over last year with 2 really good teams and a couple others on the cutting edge of Top 25 for a change.

ACC and SEC are best conferences in my opinion. Pac-10 has stayed about the same.

I think overall some of the lesser conferences (non-BCS) are gaining slowly on the Big Six.

I still think it is premature to judge the conferences. If the Big 12 wins a BCS bowl and maybe five other bowls, then everyone will look at the end of the year and say they were underrated all year. Usually, the bowl season is heavily considered in judging a conference. I am still not sold on the Big East. Miami might not be very good. Pitt got killed by MSU. WVU hasn't played anyone tough.

Do you have something against West Virginia? You bring them up in every post you make! What do you want them to do not play the teams on their schedule? I mean the only really team that can pick who they want to play any year or anytime is Notre Dame! Big 10 sucks this year too so Ohio St. doesn't play anyone either! USC doesn't play anyone wow they beat a top 15 team in Nebraska which is down again this season and the Pac-10 sucks. So what is your masterful point? Letssssss Gooooooo Mountaineers!!

WVU, like everyone else, has multiple OOC weeks to schedule a credible opponent. Do I need to post the link again where I did the I-A vs. I-AA research, and actually made a list of every single team WVU avoided in their OOC weeks? I guess maybe WVU's AD doesn't know how to contact other AD's. Or they wanted a very easy schedule. You be the judge. Hey, WVU might be the best NCAA team in the whole history of the league, and they are still gonna get overlooked in November because of who they chose to play. Esp. with Brohm and Bush hurt.

Isnt the Big Ten 26-6 so far?

Ohio State plays: Texas, Michigan, PSU, Mich State (beat Pitt handily), Iowa

Mich is undefeated and a top 5-10 team.

Texas was the returning national champ. They'll lose 2 games max.

PSU was in the BCS last year. Their younger guys may or may not come around in time to make this year pretty good. I think they win 9 games.

Iowa is a top 15 team right now and undefeated. They haven't played well yet though.




I am happy the Eers are doing well, but the 2nd best team they play is Pitt... I know they can't do anything about it now (the schedule that is), but when the second best team gets beat by MSU the way they did, then the schedule becomes pretty ugly. MSU is the 4th or 5th best team that OSU plays.

I will say again in defense of Pitt somewhat, that MSU is the hardest team to beat in the whole NCAA, early in the season. But Pitt just follows the exact same patterns, and its happened through 2 head coaches, which means it was not Harris' or Wanny's fault. Both coordinators have been there through 2 head coaches and nothing changed in the way of the usual Pitt game-patterns. Don't blame Harris for "leaving the cupboard bare", blame your coordinators.

Rutgers is probably gonna kill Pitt, Louisville will, and so will WVU. They'll be bowl eligible I would bet, but I see another bad season for Pitt, only this time probably 7-5 instead of 5-6.

MSU might actually beat Notre Dame again. Then they'll go 7-5 like every other year. I'm surprised and impressed with OSU's young defense, and equally surprised in Michigan's. Like I said before of PSU... luck is on Penn State's side in 2006, because we lucked out and had 2 conference champs on the OOC schedule, and one BCS team as well. Also, luckily, in this transition year for the Nit Wits, fortunately for them it looks like a lot of Big Ten teams are clueless. MSU will fall apart, NW is.... wow, Minnesota luckily lost Russel and has nothing, Indiana is slowly better but still terrible, Illinois is clueless as usual, Iowa seems like a team on the verge of getting slaughtered by someone who isnt very good, Purdue will be their usual self and be horrible by midseason, and Wisconsin may be competitive but is undergoing a head coaching change and that usually takes a year or so to take affect, plus they lost everybody. We lucked out this year. Hopefully, PSU can capitalize on this opportunity and win 9-10 games, including the bowl. I'm optimistic that they can take advantage of a lucky opportunity and turn this season into something respectable, whereas it would probably be a 6-7 win season in a usually-tough Big Ten.

TAE, Only Rhoads has been there through both head coaches. Cavanaugh came on board with Wannstedt.

I think Rhoads must go. Pitt has increased their speed and therefore should be in position to make plays. If they are not in position to make plays, then they are running the wrong scheme or they are not well coached.
