The '2006 Stretch Run' concludes with the end of the 2006 regular season this upcoming weekend. In the final week, teams will try to clinch 17 available postseason spots, fight for playoff positioning and attempt to capture nine conference championships still up for grabs. Here is the latest playoff picture in the WPIAL with an eye toward the opening of the 'Highway to Heinz'.

CLASS (AAAA) BIG EAST CONFERENCE:
* Woodland Hills (4-0), Penn Hills (4-0), Gateway (2-2) and Kiski Area (2-2) have all clinched
* Woodland Hills visits Penn Hills on Friday with the winner claiming the conference title and the loser finishing in second place
* Gateway visits Kiski Area on Friday with the winner taking third place while the loser settles for fourth place

CLASS (AAAA) GREAT SOUTHERN CONFERENCE:
* Upper St. Clair (4-0), McKeesport (3-1), Bethel Park (2-2) and Mount Lebanon (2-2) have all clinched
* Upper St. Clair has clinched the conference championship
* McKeesport will finish in second place
* Bethel Park can finish third with at win at Baldwin on Friday OR a Mount Lebanon loss against Upper St. Clair on Friday
* Mount Lebanon needs a win over USC AND a Bethel Park loss to Baldwin to finish third
* If Baldwin (1-3) beats Bethel Park and Mount Lebanon loses, tie-breaker points will determine third place. (Mount Lebanon is +1, Bethel Park is 0 and Baldwin is -23). Then head-to-head will determine fourth place and the wild card team

CLASS (AAAA) NORTHERN FIVE CONFERENCE:
* North Allegheny (4-0), Shaler 3-1) and North Hills (3-1) have all clinched
* North Allegheny takes the conference crown with a win Friday at North Hills
* North Hills takes the conference crown if they beat North Allegheny AND Shaler loses to visiting Erie McDowell on Friday
* If Shaler beats Erie McDowell AND North Hills beats North Allegheny, there will be a three-way toe for the conference title with tiebreaker points used to settle the order of finish (North Allegheny +37, North Hills +18, Shaler +11)

CLASS (AAAA) FOOTHILLS CONFERENCE:
* Pittsburgh Central Catholic (4-0), Norwin (3-1) and Penn-Trafford (3-1) have all clinched
* Pittsburgh Central Catholic has clinched the conference championship
* Penn-Trafford hosts Norwin on Friday with the winner taking second place and the loser taking third place
* Hempfield (1-3) visits Latrobe (1-3) on Friday with the winner earning a playoff spot and taking fourth place

CLASS (AAAA) WILD CARD:
* With Erie McDowell (2-2) locked into either third or fourth place in the Northern Five Conference and because they are ineligible for the WPIAL playoffs, a fifth place wild card team will advance to the postseason
* If Baldwin beats Bethel Park, the Highlanders are in and the Black Hawks are the wild card team
* If Baldwin loses, then the wild card team will be determined by tie-breaker points and will come from this group - Baldwin, the Plum at Fox Chapel winner, the Seneca Valley at Butler winner, the Hempfield at Latrobe loser (Baldwin -23, Plum -27, Fox Chapel -40, Seneca Valley -40, Butler -35, Hempfield -23, Latrobe -20)
* Canon-McMillan and Connellsville are eliminated because neither team can finish in fifth place


CLASS (AAA) BIG SEVEN CONFERENCE:
* Thomas Jefferson (5-0) has clinched a playoff spot and the conference championship
* The winner of the Chartiers Valley (3-2) at Keystone Oaks (3-2) game on Friday is in
* Trinity (3-2) can clinch a playoff spot with a win at Peters Township (2-3) on Friday
* If Chartiers Valley and Trinity win, it will be Trinity second, Chartiers Valley third and Keystone Oaks fourth
* If Chartiers Valley and Peters Township win, it will be Chartiers Valley second, Peters Township third and Keystone Oaks fourth
* If Keystone Oaks and Trinity win, Keystone Oaks will finish second, Trinity third and Chartiers Valley fourth
* If Keystone Oaks and Peters Township win, Keystone Oaks will finish second, Peters Township third and Trinity fourth
* West Mifflin (2-3) could still make the playoffs as a third or fourth place team, but they would have to upset top-ranked Thomas Jefferson on Friday

CLASS (AAA) GREATER ALLEGHENY CONFERENCE:
* Pine-Richland (5-0) and Franklin Regional (4-1) have clinched
* Pine-Richland has won the conference championship while Franklin Regional will finish in second place
* Highlands (3-2) can clinch a playoff spot and finish in third place with a win Friday against visitng Knoch (2-3)
* Hampton (3-2) can clinch a playoff spot with a win Friday at Pine-Richland OR a Highlands win over Knoch
* For Knoch to clinch, they need to beat Highlands AND have Hampton beat Pine-Richland
* If Knoch wins and Hampton loses, then there will be a three way tie for the final two spots. Tie-breaker points will determine who is in third place, which would leave Highlands third and Hampton fourth (Highlands +17, Hampton +5, Knoch -7)

CLASS (AAA) PARKWAY CONFERENCE:
* Blackhawk (4-1) and Hopewell (4-1) have clinched
* Blackhawk can clinch the top spot in the conference with a win at Ambridge on Friday
* Hopewell will finish at least in second place and can win the conference title with a win over Montour (2-3) AND a Blackhawk loss to Ambridge (2-3)
* The winner of the West Allegheny (3-2) at Moon (2-3) game clinches third place
* If Blachawk, Hopewell and West Allegheny win, the final order of finish will be 1) Blackhawk, 2) Hopewell, 3) West Allegheny 4) Montour
* If Blackhawk, Hopewell and Moon win, the final order of finish will be 1) Blackhawk, 2) Hopewell, 3) Moon, 4) West Allegheny
* If Blackhawk, Montour and West Allegheny win, the final order of finish will be 1) Blackhawk, 2) Hopewell, 3) West Allegheny, 4) Montour
* If Blackhawk, Montour and Moon win, the final order of finish will be 1) Blackhawk, 2) Hopewell, 3) Moon, 4) West Allegheny

* Mount Pleasant (5-0), Ringgold (3-2) and Laurel Highlands (3-2) have all clinched
* Mount Pleasant has won the conference championship
* If Laurel Highlands wins at Uniontown on Friday and Ringgold beats visiting Belle Vernon (3-2), then Laurel Highlands will finish second, Ringgold third and Albert Gallatin (3-3) fourh
* If Laurel Highlands and Belle Vernon win, then Belle Vernon will finish second, Laurel Highlands third and Ringgold fourth
* If Uniontown and Ringgold win, then Ringgold finishes second, Laurel Highlands third and Albert Gallatin fourth
* If Uniontown and Belle Vernon win, then Belle Vernon finishes second, Laurel Highlands third and Ringgold fourth


CLASS (AA) CENTURY CONFERENCE:
* Brentwood (6-1) and Seton-LaSalle (6-1) have clinched
* The rest of the schedule:
Friday: Brentwood at South Fayette (5-2), Steel Valley (5-2) at South Park (5-2) , Seton-LaSalle vs Carlynton
* The winner of the Steel Valley at South Park game clinches a playoff spot
* If South Fayette wins, they clinch a playoff spot

CLASS (AA) TRI-COUNTY NORTH CONFERENCE:
* Laurel (6-1), Mars (6-1) and Shenango (6-1) have all clinched
* The rest of the schedule:
Friday: Shenango at Laurel and Mars at Mohawk
* If Shenango wins no matter what Mars does, the final order will be 1) Shenango, 2) Mars, 3) Laurel
* If Laurel and Mars win, the final order will be 1) Mars, 2) Laurel, 3) Shenango
* If Laurel and Mohawk win, the final order will be 1) Laurel, 2) Shenango, 3) Mars

CLASS (AA) ALLEGHNEY CONFERENCE:
* Ford City (7-0) and Kittanning (6-1) have clinched
* Ford City has clinched the conference championship
* Kittanning is second
* The winner of the Burrell (4-3) at Valley (5-2) game on Friday will clinch and finish third

CLASS (AA) MIDWESTERN CONFERENCE:
* Aliquippa (7-0), Sto-Rox (6-1) and Center (6-1) have all clinched
* If Aliquippa beats visiting Center on Friday and Sto-Rox beats Quaker Valley, then the final order will be 1) Aliquippa, 2) Sto-Rox, 3) Center
* If Center beats Aliquippa and Sto-Rox wins, then the final order will be determined by tie-breaker points

CLASS (AA) INTERSTATE CONFERENCE:
* Greensburg Central Catholic (7-0), Yough (6-1) and Jeannatte (6-1) have all clinched
* If Greensburg Central Catholic wins at Jeannette on Friday and Yough wins at Southmoreland on Friday, then the final order will be 1) Greensburg Central Catholic, 2) Yough, 3) Jeannette
* If Jeannette beats Greensburg Central Catholic and Yough wins, then the final order will be determined by tie-breaker points Greensburg Central Catholic +70, Yough +50, Jeannette +50)


CLASS (A) EASTERN CONFERENCE:
* Clairton (6-0), Springdale (4-1) and Riverview (4-1) have all clinched
* Clairton has won the conference championsip
* The winner of the Riverview at Springdale game on Friday will take second place while the loser settles for third place
* If Duquesne (2-3) beats visiting Wilkinsburg (1-4) on Saturday, Duquesne clinches and finishes in fourth place
* If Apollo-Ridge (1-4) beats Leechburg on Friday, then Wilkinsburg has to beat Duquesne by 10 or more points on Saturday to clinch fourth place. However if Apollo-Ridge loses on Friday, then all Wilkinsburg has to do is beat Duquesne to clinch

CLASS (A) BLACK HILLS CONFERENCE:
* Beth-Center (5-0), Serra Catholic (4-1) and Fort Cherry (3-2) have all clinched
* Beth-Center has clinched the conference title
* Serra Catholic has clinched second place
* If Chartiers-Houston (2-3) beats host Fort Cherry and Bentworth (2-3) loses to visiting Beth-Center on Friday, then Chartiers-Houston is third and Fort Cherry fourth
* If Chartiers-Houston loses and Bentworth wins, then Fort Cherry is third and Bentworth is fourth
* If Chartiers-Houston and Bentworth both lose and Frazier (1-4) loses to Avella, then Chartiers-Houston clinches fourth place
* If Chartiers-Houston and Bentworth lose and Frazier beats Avella, then it comes down to point tie-breaker between Chartiers-Houston and Bentworth to determine the final playoff spot (Chartiers-Houston -8, Bentworth -10, Frazier -32)

CLASS (A) BIG 7 CONFERENCE:
* Rochester (5-0) and Monaca (4-1) have clinched playoff spots
* The winner of the Rochester at Monaca game on Friday will win the conference championship
* If Rochester loses, they finish second. If Monaca loses, they will finish second ONLY if North Catholic loses. If Monaca loses and North Catholic wins, North Catholic is second and Monaca is third
* If North Catholic (3-2) beats host Bishop Canevin (2-3) on Saturday night, North Catholic clinches
* South Side Beaver (2-3) clinches a playoff spot with a win Saturday afternoon at Western Beaver
* If South Side Beaver wins, the winner of North Catholic at Bishop Canevin is in while the loser is out
* If South Side Beaver loses and Bishop Canevin loses, then the final playoff spot will be determined by tie-breaker points (Bishop Canevin -4, South Side Beaver -12, Western Beaver -26)

CLASS (A) TRI-COUNTY SOUTH CONFERENCE:
* Jefferson-Morgan (4-1), California (4-1), Monessen (4-1) and Carmichaels (3-2) have all clinched
Friday: Jefferson-Morgan at Mapletown, California at Carmichaels, Monessen at West Greene
