I was at this game tonight and Tussey played pretty well in the 2nd half. Bussard has gotten better and better all year. The Cougars put the ball on the ground 3 or 4 times tonight and this helped keep TM in the game. NS score right away and then TM came back and matched them. NS then scored again and it looked like TM would have to match them score for score, but then they stiffened and NS didn't make plays (dropped 2 passes when wide open). The play of the game came early in the 4th quarter. The game was tied at 14 and NS was in TM's redzone for a 4th and like 13. NS was able to get a guy open for a TD pass. The next TM possession ended with a fumble that NS picked up and took to the house. A 2 pt conversion later made it 28-14. TM responded though throwing out of double slot and with under 5 mins left they hit a 30ish yd TD pass down the right sideline to make it 28-20. NS got the ball back and fumbled on their 2nd play in their own territory. A holding call against TM put them in a rough spot and they couldn't get the ball moved up the field and turned it over on downs. With 2 TO's left they got NS into a 4th down with about 1:15 left. They ran a reverse and got the first don to end the game.

This didn't flow at all, I know... just wanted to post the details quick for anyone interested in what happened in this matchup. NS will be without a starter next Saturday (#32 got thrown out in the 4th) when they play Windber. I think he may have been a 2 way starter too.

NS played great on offense. They moved the ball all night and got a lot of big plays. The defense stopped Tussy for the most part and made big plays as well but, once again for the 10th week in a row, they shot themselves in the foot with penalties. They need to get rid of the penalties if they want to beat Windber.
