PATERNO OPEN ABOUT MCCOY SCOFF

Coming out of high school, there was a lot of hype around LeSean McCoy and where he'd end up on Letter of Intent Day. A Pennsylvania native, born and raised right here in our beloved state, the obvious choice for his football future was probably Michigan. But McCoy took the moral high road and decided to sign his letter of intent to a play ball at a school known for its strong academics and guidelines, the University of Miami. With the inmates running that asylum, McCoy's level of intelligence was sure to fit right in. After he scored an impressive 5 on his SAT's, Larry Coker and Michael Irvin threw a two keg party in Coral Gables while Willie Williams beat 3 men to death in excitement. LeSean's grades had passed the acceptance standards at Miami. However, the dastardly NCAA had something else in mind. LeSean was forced against his will to enroll in a remedial education academy, much like Charlton Heston was forced to row the slave boat in Ben Hur.
LeSean made the best of his time at Milford Academy, and even became very close friends with Penn State commit JB Walton, also known for intellectual prowess in the classroom. Penn State was a shoe-in for McCoy's football services. But LeSean McCoy, the modern-day Benedict Arnold, stabbed Papa Joe in his old, Italian back, and committed NOT to the Nittany Lions, but rather to the much more successful Pittsburgh Panthers. "Me figure Pitt coordinators show much more promise than da Penn State coordinatororors. Matt Cavanaugh make enormous game-adjustments and always have da players mentally and physically ready for da game," said McCoy in a phone interview earlier Monday. When asked about Pitt head coach Dave Wannstedt screaming into the face of Cavanaugh "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING" during a game this season, LeSean drifted off into space and drooled a bit from the corner of his mouth. "Me feel good at Pitt. LeSean happy with Pitt. Me run ball, coach. Coach, where you want me run ball this time? Me sorry to make coach disappointered. Me run harder next time, coach." Through deciphered language, the AP also learned that McCoy was very fond of how nice of a job Wannstedt did in the NFL. The deciphered language said something to the effect of "Chicago Bears win three Super Bowls with Coach Wanny, me remember all of that very clearly." The question was posed to LeSean whether or not the irrational scholarship offers recently made by the Penn State coaching staff had anything to do with his decision to attend Pitt. "No. Me like turkey sandwiches. Me go to Pitt, have better turkey sandwich. Me eat as fast as me run. Me and LaRod good friends, make paper-mache pinatas on recruiting visit."
But Paterno was disappointed with LeSean's decision. "LeSean's a great running back, and that. Great thinker and smart kid. His dad and grandfather played here under me in the 1920's, and that. I was disappointed he didn't commit to the State Pen. I mean Penn State." The next question posed to Paterno was why McCoy was not made the number one priority, given his position as a player and the need for the Lions to replace one of their greatest running backs of all time in Tony Hunt. "We don't play Syracuse this year," Joe said. When reminded what the question really was, Paterno's reply showed hints of why McCoy may have not committed to the Lions. "I was sure he'd make an excellent defensive tackle. He has the size and speed we need to get on the line with Anthony Adams graduating this year." Paterno was reminded that Adams graduated about 5 seasons ago, and this news made the old coach sad with grief. There was a very foul smell in the room suddenly, as many people made their way to the exits. Defensive coordinator Tom Bradley immediately ushered Paterno out of the room to change his pants while Mike McQueary let the remaining audience know that Penn State wishes LeSean McCoy the best of luck in future endeavors.
