Everett Over Bedford

Post by S Cube »

just got back from the title tilt of the tip off tourney...everett started off hot but fell behind badly by half time...the third quarter then belonged to the warriors...they held bedford to 3 third quarter points...everett was then able to pull away in the 4th for the W...good play all around, altho some bedford fans thought there was some bad officiating, that still isnt an excuse for their poor shooting in the second half...

It was awesome! Troy Harris started off well, but by the second half he wasn't making anything. Adam Miller had a great game and a good tournament I heard....He got the MVP of the tourney award. As Cube said, Bedford had poor shooting in the second half, and later just broke down after Harris missed over and over from behind the arc and was left hangin with four fouls. Adam Miller, Sean Foor, Wes Garland, Jason Cessna and Alex Hall all had a great game! Congrats Warriors.

Everett 60 Bed 50. At one point in mid fourth Bedford had only scored 7 points. Harris and Fox both got in foul trouble but the story of the game was Adam Miller (MVP) all-around play. Hit a 3-pt'er and then a beautiful assist to Clingerman that I thought nailed the coffin shut for the Warriors. Bedford did not handle adversity very well, perhaps the difference between the SR laden Warriors and underclass heavy Bisons. Would be a great rematch in a D5 semifinal or final.

Could this bring about the resurgance of the NZONE CREW for EHS Basketball?????? Doubtful, because at some point, Everett will lose, and then why even play the rest of the season if you cant be undefeated????

not to be rude, but at the football game against central cambria this year, i heard one of their fans come up with a cheer about the bisons from a bison viewpoint:

we're from bedford, we suck at math, watch our team, lose the 2nd half

granted it was tasteless and it did anger me a bit, but i see that they not only meant football, but from the sounds of it, our bball team has a bit of 2nd half work to do as well...lets just hope it was only a bad nite and will not carry throughout the season

The bison's lose was part to a terrible mental break down in the second half which can be attributed to lack of varsity experience. These games dont matter in the playoff point standings so it was a good humbling experience for bedford.

Bedford just didn't have anyone to step up and score with Harris and Fox on the bench due to horrid officiating! Harris was getting hand-checked and fouled most of the night by Koontz but no officials blew the whistle! And when Harris would make a legal steal attempt the whistle would sound and before long he was on the bench in foul trouble!

I do think the cheer someone mentioned was silly, but the second half of football games this year always went to the opponent. It is very early in the season and the Bison need to find their identity and see how they handle adversity. It may help Bedford and Everett both.
