I'm having a lot of difficulty understanding all of you state fans. Are you all claiming that if Joe played Scott in every game that he would've been one of the best backs in the nation? Austin Scott is a solid back, and will become a great back, but he has really yet to prove that much. Sure, if he played the Panthers he might get about 100 yards but Pitt would still win the game. If the Panthers can beat a decent Va Tech team giving up 200 yards to Jones then they can beat a lousy PSU team giving up 100 yards to A. Scott. It makes sense to me, at least. As for the bowl game, Virginia is a surging team while the Panthers are a team still searching for a solid D, as everyone has stated. I think that their defense will show up for this one and Larry Fitz will destroy the Cavalier defense. Should be a pretty good game, though.

Lundy for UVA is a workhorse in the backfield...Pitts D will not be up to the task of stopping him...Larry Fitz will show up and play a hell of a game...If Harris lets him...the big TE for UVA (Miller) will also have a field day with Pitt..He has set the record for most receptions in a season for the ACC...and he is only a sophomore...UVA will come out on top!
The winner ain't always the one with the fastest car....it's the one who refuses to lose!
I believe that UVA will win a very close contest. I think Pitts inablity to stop the run will come back and bite the Panthers. Wally Lundy is a very explosive back and if he wouldnt have had his injuries this year he would have very better stats. Remember he is only a sophmore and i think he will put up kevin jones type of numbers, but he isnt as good out of the backfield as KJ. I think Tech found something when they started throwing to him out of the backfield more.
