Week 2 Scrimmages
Week 2 Scrimmages
Tonight is the last tune-up before it counts. Post some results here if you have them. I know NB travels to Shade. I also heard the Juniata Valley plays Portage. If anyone has a recap of that game that would be nice.

Getting ready to head over to the Bedford/ McCort scrimmage here in about 20 mins. I'll take the camera over and try to get some good pictures. Hopefully give people something to look at here, other than just our "wise" comments.

Re: Week 2 Scrimmages
Central and Huntingdon played 2 quarters of scoreless football tonight in Roaring Spring. The only score of the whole scrimmage was during the 7 plays each from the 10 where Central threw a touchdown pass. What surprised me the most was Central's defense which has been poor the last few years, totally shut down the Bearcats, who barely moved the ball. The Dragons may be a surprise team this year in the new Mountain Conference.

NB scrimmaged Shade and had a little bit of a rough go round. Things weren't pretty, but that's what scrimmages are for. No injuries and a week closer to week 1....

Re: Week 2 Scrimmages
BC and BG played and were pretty even. First half of the scrimmage they ran about 20 plays each, out of those 20 plays BG had negative yards. BC had 5 sacks and looked really good on D. On O J schrift looked good he threw for a td and with pressure he didn't get happy feet he was very calm in the pocket. He did have a screen int , but besides that he looked really good. They ran there spread formation plus a i formation under center which was nice to see. but as the scrimmage went on they looked very tired. BG got the best at the end. BC had there two stars sitting Julach RB (sorry about spelling) off the field issues and Gerber who was nursing a leg injury. Any word on PC?

Any word on Everett's scrimmage?
It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Re: Week 2 Scrimmages
i was at the pc, mount union scrimmage and pc looked pretty good....although mu really isn't a LHAC calliber team, pc still looked solid...they played 10 and 10 from the 30 to start, pc scored a td on play 6 and drove down to the 20 by the 10th play....mu did not move the ball past the original line of scrimmage...then they played with moving sticks, 4 downs to get the first or lose the ball starting at the 30...pc went 70 yards for a td on 4 plays...then stopped mu and got it back and drove for a td again...stopped mu by the 50....they scored again and stopped mu once more...then 2nd o played and scored a td and 1st d stopped mu once more....pc had around 7 sacks and 2 ints....pc's backs looked very good and line definetly dominated. but that was mu

Does anyone have any comments about the central cambria, somerset scrimmage? From what i saw, it was pretty even off the start, but when they started game situation, it looked like central cambria took it away.

Re: Week 2 Scrimmages
I agree with u hitstick...when in the "game situation" portion of the scrimmage, CC's defense was solid, not allowing a single first down and forcing turnovers. Although one must keep in mind that it was somerset ( a glorified Cambria Heights Team ) who lined up across from them. When analyzing CC's scrimmages between the crushers and golden eagles, their season looks promising--more so than prior years. But we'll all find out how good the Red Devils really are next friday when they toe the line against AReed and J-town.

One-two-PUNCH? Haven't we had enough about Penn State's off-the-field issues?
