It will shake down like this. Whoever wins the district will get man-handled by whoever they play in the first round of states.

Well, there are going to be several talented teams in the pool this year, IMHO. However, there is also a large chance that some of these teams will not see the playoffs due to the fierce competition this year. I believe wholeheartedly that this will be one of the best seasons to date.

I think that luck is definately a factor in state play. We should be estatic that District V gets three bids to PIAA state competition; that's three less for the rest of the state. The first round draw could turn out not so bad, especially considering how thin District VI along with a few others have become in recent years with teams bumping up to AA. You figure with a easy draw in the first round followed by second round game where you could possibly face a lower-ranked team or even a local team that may have upset someone in the first round could easily send any D-V team to the Elite 8. Once a team makes it there, I believe lady luck in on their side. Miracles do happen! Look to last year at two local teams: Greencastle and J. Buchanan. Teams that were never consider powerhouses in AAA. J.B. made it to the semi-finals of states last year and Greencastle went up for the title.

In ending, we must have faith. True fans of the game of basketball believe in their team whole-heartedly; and stand up to any task. We cannot cheer with our hearts an entire season, just to let it all go at states. Believe in your team and believe in miracles.
