And good coaches make adjustments......he finally has some decent talent on the D'line but that D sat in a '44' all eve and never mixed it up.......I mean a couple of blitzes & fake blitzes out of it but why were 2 or 3 of the lb's 7/8 yds. off the ball @ times???? Why not 5 D'lineman ?? In first half Navy converted 6 straight 3rd downs by going wide......didn't Rhoads or coaches in booth pick up anything???? I mean seriously. if you played a 5-4 do you think Navy would have passed more? Although I don't think it would have mattered...when they did throw they usually had someone wide open!! I'm glad they had nearly 2 weeks to prepare for Navy's option......with a normal week's prep they may have given up 68 points!!!

I would keep Wanny and define his role for him. Recruit and then get out of the way.

Fire Rhoads and Cavanaugh.

Bring in two new coordinators and let them coach.

I though Cavanaugh called a great game except for his two third and goal calls. McCoy is having his way with Navy's defense. What does Cav do? He throws the ball twice on third and goal.

I have been going to Pitt games since 1977, butI will not attend another Pitt game until Paul Rhoads is no longer employed by the University of Pittsburgh.

On the bright side, Pitt Basketball begins practicing tomorrow.

Disappointing to say the least...Navy stuck it down our throats, we score 45 points and lose. Pathetic.

The two calls at the end of the game STUNK...Hilly, my best guess is that Wanny had a lot of say in those calls.

However, a better pass to the TE on 3rd and goal would've resulted in a TD...Oh yeah, that's right DARRELL "I'll Flip You Off" STRONG committed an illegal shift...Then, the fade corner to Strong from a frosh QB...Why not run McCoy wide on 3rd AND 4th down????? Navy didn't stop his wide off-tackle or end runs all night.

Also, where was the screen pass to McCoy??? Don't they have it in their playbook???????

I'm with you Hilly, I vow never to watch Paul Rhodes coach at Pitt again......I made that decision right after I witnessed the U.Conn. debacle with W~T at my side.

One more example of how Pitt's program is going the wrong direction....they get killed by a Virginia team that they handle last year.

The play calling at the end of OT #2 was not good, but giving up 48 points by the defense who couldn't defend passes all night by a very poor passing Navy offense made me sick on my stomach. Rhodes MUST go.

I'm not going to give Wanny a hard time for going for it on fourth down. I liked the call and thought Pitt's defense was fortunate to have Navy kick the field goal on their possession and I thought it was a perfect time to win the game. I just didn't see Pitt's defense forcing another field goal or turnover if overtime continued. I did hate the play calling though for Pitt's final 2 plays. I think Wanny intended on going for it on fourth down no matter what and I know Lou Holtz is a crazy old man, now adays, but I thought he was right then he said, "if Wannstadt was planning on going for it on fourth down no matter what, you run on third down". I thought he was right on with that statement. Instead we pass on the last two plays. If your going to gamble and go down swinging, please go down swinging with your best player.

Those sandwiches looked dang good last night though. Personally, Im a Fatheads fan.

flat out we have one of the best RB's in the country and a Left tackle that out weighed their RE by over 100 lbs.
