Penn State's 08 schedule just got better...

Post by Coach »

I'm happy for this as a season ticket holder and fan...

Arkansas State is no longer the second game. Instead, the Nits will host Oregon State that week. The Beavers have had a solid last couple of years and provide a nice first time opponent. The following week, PSU will travel to the Cuse which has just been awful recently. That series was schedule like 3-5 years ago though before knowing what would happen to them.

Good job getting the Beavers to come to the Beave PSU!

I agree this was a great pickup for PSU. OSU was looking for an intersectional matchup and was willing to travel and I applaud PSU for buying out Arkansas State and making it happen.

But Coach, bringing up the 1 for 1 deal with Syracuse still really burns me, especially when they refuse to play Pitt, even after the NCAA went to the 12 game schedule.

I believe in '08 one will wonder whose house is "Beaver Stadium". Is it the 1st for a school with that nickname to venture into Happy Valley? For the record, Morelli will be gone, but Devlin will be carrying the clipboard and Clark will be throwing those "what was that " passes. I'll take the other OSU by 4.

The thing is... a 1 and 1 with Cuse wouldn't end up being a 5 for 5. They've had recent 1 and 1 games with Neb, BC, Mia, Virginia, Notre Dame, and Cuse/Bama coming up. Each of those ends at 1 and 1... I'm glad they can get 2 in and move on to see someone else. I'd rather see all those teams than I would to see Pitt for 10 years.

For Penn State's sake, I just hope they don't get caught looking ahead to the Beavers and take I-aa Coastal Carolina too lightly.

fun.... we can start this again. Every team out there plays bad teams. I was just making sure this guy didn't go off his rocker.

Pitt has played three 1aa teams in the last 5 years (citadel, grambling, and furman)

Other notables over 5 years...
This year...Eastern Mich and Grambling
1 year ago...Toledo, Cent. Fla, and Citadel
2 years ago...Ohio (lost) and YSU
3 years ago...Ohio, Furman
4 years ago...Kent, Ball State, Toledo

I don't need to keep posting. PSU has bad stuff too. Just go through team after team and you'll see. This crap is neverending, so oh well.

Pitt has played some bad teams over the last 5 years and what is their record over that time. What is their Big East record over the last 5 years? I know we see this stuff posted for PSU. Pitt has McCoy and now will do well because one guy like that in the Big East is what you need to succeed. WVU has done it for a few years with White and Slaton.

Anyway...PSU plays Oregon State next year.
