Hello all. We're taking the show on the road as DeB's is back in Johnstown for the New Years day weekend. Yesterday went fairly well, 2-1 striaght up and against the spread. So far, the record is 2-2 against both. 4 games today..

Car Care Bowl:
Connecticut vs. Wake (-2)

Outlook:
This game was -2.5 yesterday, and some places even have it at -1.5. I started posting this pick yest. before my internet closed on me, and predicted this might even be a Pickem at kick off. I'll use the -2 line as an average.
UCONN made a living this year winning games they never should have by forcing turnovers and scoring defensive and special teams TDs. Lorenzen is decent and 150 lbs lighter than his former Kentucky and current Giant (literally) counterpart, and Kanuch (sorry dont know the spelling) is playing there. Perhaps most importantly, I bought a UCONN shirt when I was a freshman in college because the mascot kinda looks like my dog Kodiak.

Prediction:

Low scoring affiar here. Under is the bet. UConn is the pick.

Huskies 17-16

Central Florida (-3) vs. Miss State

Outlook:
Sly Croom turned an embarassing opener and surefire disaster of a season around big time at the end of the year, with a key victory over Alabama that, coupled with a UL Monroe loss triggered 9-11 and Pearl Harbor analogies by OSaban BeenLyin. Miss St. definatly plays in the toughest conference in the country, and to make it out of there bowl eligible is honestly commendable.

UCF running back Kevin Smith is less than 200 yards away from breaking Barry Sander's single season rushing record. Apart from a 50 point shalacking by South Florida, UCF was very impressive this season, and i'm a big fan of Vegas gold/White uniforms.

Smith wont get the record, i'm smelling a 170 yard performance that leaves him just short but opens whoever's eyes are still closed to this kid.

Prediction:

UCF brings tallies another one up for the Mid Majors and covers the number:

Knights 32-24

Alamo Bowl:
Penn St. (-5) vs. Texas A&M

This season was supposed to be the one. Even while the Lions were in the midst of a 11-1 season 2 years ago, everyone said they were 2 years away. The players, coaches, fans, and ESPN brass all thought this was the year PSU could make the push. This was definatly the season, with a 2 loss team in the title game. Then it happend. The Lions lost to Michigan in what was perhaps their worst offensive showing since a 6-4 loss to IOWA 3 years ago. Then cam Illinois. 6 times inside the Illini 40 yard line, 3 points. A big win against Wisconson, some momentum against Ohio State, and the Lions showed up flat at home at night against the number 1 team in the country. Finish out this disaster with blowing a 24-7 second half lead against MSU, and here we are in the Alamo Bowl.

A&M was overhyped and downright terrible at times this year. Thier pitiful showing in the Orange Bowl booted them from the top 25, they blew it against Kansas, and then somehow beat Texas in a game that meant so much their head coach immedatly resigned after.

Jaworski Hugeback is pretty sweet, but PSU's rush D is nasty. Morelli was lights out in the Outback bowl last year, hopefully history repeats itself..

Prediction:

Interim coaches havent fared well so far. Expect Morelli to go Zack Mills and explode in his last game of his football career.

Lions 34-17

NFL:

New England (-13) vs. NY Giants

New England has a few records to break. The Giants will use wanting to keep its starters healthy as an excuse for being blown out.

New England: 60-3
