I heard that chestnut Ridge is practicing from 3:20 to 6:00 every night. Is that true? If so that has to be burning the team out. Maybe thats why they lost those 2 big matches just from being beat. I wrestle and our coach keeps it down to 2 hours. I just think that if the team is working their butts off they shouldnt be worked to death. I don't know. But my buddy who wrestles over there says its awful and he cant stand it. What do yall think.

He probably is. But I don't know of any other schools that practice for 2 and a half hours at a minimum. I know for a fact that North Star and Northern are out of the room by 5:30 every night.

why is this coming out now? I am a mom of a former wrestler and I have NEVER known Ridge not to be in that wrestling room until 6PM. What difference does it make anyway? Is there a PIAA rule that says they can only practice so long? I can hardly believe it if there is. If someone feels that he is practicing too long, then maybe wrestling is not for him. You have to be a very motivated and driven person to get out there on that mat and go head to head for 6 minutes (hopefully if you are skilled, it will be shorter). Although Ridge still has members of the undefeated regular season team of 2006 (the seniors now), they are in a start of building years.

Whoever is whining about long practice times is in the wrong sport.........my son is a new 7-year old, and he and his club practice for 2 hours, and those little kids don't whine around as much as this thread-starter.

wrestlingfan4 might want to leave practice a little early and crack open an English book though.
