Hello all. Incredibly busy week: out of town for new years eve and new years day, and work had me swamped and very tired. Anyway, The NYD bowls were pretty decent, Michigan totally suprised me and USC brought a tear of joy to my eye. Also, Hawaii made me want to vomit. On to this weekends picks..
NCAA:
International Bowl:
Rutgers (-11) vs. Ball St
Greg Schiano needs patted on the back and free steak dinners for the rest of his mortal life for bringing a somewhat winning culture to Rutgers. This game opened up at -9.5, and Rutgers is a heavy public play. Rutgers should be the easy pick, but consider this: ESPN showed their national vote/confidence picks for the bowls. The team with over 95% vote and 32/32 confidence points (Boise) not only didnt cover as 10 point favorites, they lost. Third highest pick: Florida over michigan. Once again.. Lost. 2nd highest? Rutgers over Ball State. Vegas doesnt lose. I really want a bagel.
Prediction:
No way Rutgers covers 11 here, and take the over.

Washington Redskins at Seattle Seahawks (-3.5)
Outlook:
This game opened at -5, so there's obviously alot of action on Washington. The Redskins are red hot, but Seattle is a tough place to play. Reality is this: The Redskins drafted LaVar, hired Steve Spurrier, and currently employ about a dozen former Miami Players (RIP sean). I'm completely bias here and am not scared to admit it. Injuns over Starbucks here, dudes.

Jacksonville Jaguars (-2.5) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Outlook:
Pittsburgh is obviously my favorite team. Am i objective? Yes. Even In the playoffs? No. My theory here is the same for Ball State, kinda. Pittsburgh stumbled into the playoffs, and Jacksonville was white hot. Jacksonville beat Pittsburgh straight up. Pittsburgh's Running back, left tackle, and best defensive lineman are out. Pittsburghs' big play safety and pro bowl qb are banged up. And somehow, Pittsburgh opens up as a 1 point favorite. Heavy heavy movement on Jacksonville pushed them to a 2.5 point dog, but still, that line should be higher. Way higher.
Pittsburgh has no business winning this game, but bookies WANT you to take Jacksonville, so they will.
