Mount Union has put the final match out of reach now. Last score update was 34-18 with four bouts left. I'll get a final score shortly.

Westmont leaves in protest after getting jobbed out of the title match and didn't stay for 3rd place match. There are horrible calls in every event, if the PIAA disciplines the school it could effect other sports as far as a probation, I doubt if any penalty would even be given, but it does send a bad message to kids(take your ball and go home). As far as the call.......it was horrible to be kind. I didn't see the entire thing; but I saw the Westy kid shooting and forcing the issue, there was a head butt that caused an injury time.(I thought it was inadvertant), During the injury time, the mat judge, not the match ref went to scorers table, called an illegal potentially dangerous move and awarded one point to the Mount Union kid(who was getting pummeled and about to be tech falled or pinned)upon hearing this, the coach said something to the kid; he didn't continue and was awarded a default victory. 12 point swing with one match left and westy lost by 2. You can imagine why security had to line the edge of the mat to keep the Westmont parents and crowd away from the refs.It was almost ugly!

BTW- Congrats to the Rangers on an exciting come from behind victory 29-28 over H-don. MU got the big wins they needed in the final; Hopefully both will do well at Hershey.

Today's Johnstown Trib said FH has to travel to Clearfield Tues. night to face Ridgeway, D9 champ. This is what- a preliminary step before Hershey? Maybe someone can embellish this. Congrats to the D6 AA champs, MU. Maybe if FH didn't have to give up 70-80 lbs. @ 285 every match, they would have stood a little better chance? Just asking.
