I don't believe there are any boys who hit their 1,000th career point this year but there are two girls from our league who deserve applause.

They are Amy Miller, a Harlem globetrotter type ballhandler for Everett and Danice Kilgore, NBC's big strong point guard. Both these girls have been very important in their teams success over their careers. I think Andrea Layton is close and most certainly would have reached this mark if not for an injury. She is back and playing and maybe still has a shot.

I'll add my congratulations to these young, hardworking and deserving ladies. I wish I could research some more but I'm wondering. Are there any siblings who have accomplished what the Kilgores have? That is a 1,000 point scorer along with a 100 win wrestler. (Brother Greg finished with 102 wins in 2005) Obviously never happened in small Bedford county/ District V but elsewhere? who knows?

There is one boys 1,000 pt. scorer in Jordan Donaldson of TM although I believe he may have reached that milestone last year as a JR instead of this year.

Congratulations to Danis and Amy. They are both great young ladies, on and off the court, and I am proud of what they have accomplished. I also hope that Andrea Layton is able to achieve this milestone. She has been an outstanding player for Everett since her freshman year and no doubt would have been the first lady to hit the mark this season, if not for her injury. Now time is running out for her. I know this is a team sport, and I understand that it isn't all about the points, but I think this is something that she highly deserves. For the past 3 years she has contributed to Everett's success and has put up many clutch and game winning points...and now that she is back, I don't think she is being given a fair shot at reaching a goal that I am sure she has set for herself. After her injury, her abilities are not back to 100%, but even back at 75%, she is still one of the most talented players in the area. I think when the opportunities arise...more help should be steered her way by her coach and her teammates. For all she has done in her athletic career...she deserves this for the Warriors! Go Layton!

OK as of yesterday at 10:00am(when i am in biology) Dakota only needs about 15-25 more and they had a game last night against Mt. Union so Dakota is very close... Dakota is a very hardworking person and i believes he deserves this just as much as anyone! He has had to overcome some VERY tough obstacles and has overcome them in the best way he can!

Conemaugh Township has had 3 girls hit the 1,000 point plateau in the last several weeks. Does anyone else know if any team has had 3 players on the same team score 1,000 points? That has to be a pretty rare feat.

Can not think of a team locally off the top of my head but if i recall correctly the team Johnstown played in the State Chamionship a couple years back, Stealton High, had two 2000 point scorers and i think a third 1000 poitn scorer possibly....Blairsville either had 2 or 3 recently as well...
