PSU Verbal Michael Shaw Commits to Michigan.

I'm not surprised. I'm actually more surprised when kids DO go to Penn State, because I don't understand why they would want to.
This recruiting class is a complete joke. I'm sure the next good, strong, white MLB will be either Zordich or Mauti, because that's all they care about, but other than that, this class is a joke. They desperately needed WR and RB depth and they picked up a 2-star WR and no RB, while adding 17 LB's.
Let me shed some light on Michael Shaw. Michael Shaw told Penn State he wanted to come there. It was hard for him and his father to get to State College, because of travel and time. In case anyone doesn't know, which I'm sure most people do not, Trotwood, OH is very close to the Indiana border. That's a hell of a drive to State College, especially when you have time constraints.
A weekend popped up and Shaw and his father decided to take an unofficial visit to Happy Valley. They called Jay Paterno all day long, emailed him a bunch of times, and Jay decided to play the "I'm not gonna answer my phone and then tell them I had my phone turned off" game. First of all, if you own a cell phone, and its shut off, you're an idiot. Way to defeat the whole purpose of a hand-held device that was meant as a tool where you are available at all times.
So finally, after a whole day or so of this nonsense, JOE Paterno finally responds to Shaw and his dad by saying "It's not a good weekend to come over and hang out."
You know what that means, ladies? Penn State had a different RB up there working out. You know who it was? Brandon Beachem. Shaw found this out, and kept his mouth shut.
The reason why I like Michael Shaw is because he wasn't afraid of Beachem, who was ranked ahead of him by everybody, including Penn State. Shaw knew what was up, and did not air anything in public like he should have probably done. He kept his mouth shut from telling everybody what a scumbag Jay Paterno is.
In a perfect world, these are the kinds of things that you use as character builders. Stuff like this is used as experience, because we all know the Code of Hammurabi: those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. Maybe, just maybe, THIS TIME those idiots up there will realize that in today's day and age of recruiting, THEY are not courting YOU. YOU are the one courting the player.
