Chalk up another 85,000 jobs lost - Thank You Stimulus!
Chalk up another 85,000 jobs lost - Thank You Stimulus!
Barry's stimulus package is doing a bang up job!
Larger than expected 85,000 jobs lost in December.
Now get this.... (taken from local news channel www site)
"AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, a member of the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board, called the December jobs report "an ominous sign of the deep and continued suffering by working families who want to work but can't find jobs, despite tentative signs of renewed economic growth."
Trumka called for enactment of a new multibillion dollar stimulus package "to create good jobs now.""
------------------
ANOTHER trillion dollar stimulus package to create good jobs "now" ??????
What the HECK was the first one for?? And this clown advises Barry????

Apparently you don't read the Obamanation thread because Southpaw just made a similar post about the 85,000 jobs. Do you honestly believe turning a shipwrecked economy around can be done overnight, with or without a stimulus? Yes, Obama was wrong about how quickly it would turn around. You gotta hate when politicians are wrong about things like the economy and how long a war would last.
Do you know long it took the conservative hero Ronald Reagan to turn the tide on unemployment? It was 7.5% when he took over in Jan. of 1981 and rose to 10.8% nearly 2 years after he was in office. I wonder how hard you would have been on him for lack of progress?

Didn't Obama promise that unemployment would not rise above 8% if the Congress passed his "stimulus" package? After all, Barry told us that this was the greatest economic crisis since the Depression. I guess Barry was too young to remember Jimmy Carter and his 21% interest rates and 15% inflation.
Blaming George Bush for 13 months is not leadership. Reagan had a MUCH harder time getting anything through Congress. Remember, the Democrats controlled the House for the entire Reagan Administration, and Tip O'Neil basically filibustered everything Reagan wanted to get done in the House. Obama has a MUCH easier road in the legislative arena than any president in the past 40 years. Maybe had he not manufactured this health care crisis, so the government could take over one sixth of the economy (his true goal), he might have been able to spend more time on the economy. Let's face it, we NEEDED that stimulus package, or at least that is what Barry and the media told us. We got it. By every objective indicator that Barry himself established, it is failing miserably. Now his union goon allies say we need billions more. When will it end?

Yes, Obama was wrong about how low unemployment would be. Rumsfeld told us the Iraq war wouldn't last more than 6 weeks. Bush said in Feb. of 2008 that we weren't headed towards a recession (I suppose technically he was right..it was closer to a depression). Sometimes politicians are wrong and I can fully admit that Obama has been wrong on several fronts.
I was around during the Carter administration and this was a worse economic crisis than it was back then. Things were bad then, but the economy was not on verge of collapse with many of the countries major banks going under. Nobody likes giving money to banks, but what kind of shape would we be in now if we allowed them to collapse? Obama was clearly inherited a "dam**** if you do, dam**** if you don't" situation.
You mentioned about the democrats filibustering during the Reagan administration. If the democrats had control of the house and senate, why would they have to filibuster? Here is truth about filibusters....
http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/refere ... Counts.htm
As you can see the republicans have taken filibusters to a whole new level recently.
Also, let's not forget who started bailing out the banks in the first place. Didn't Bush sign over 700 billion to the banks with no strings attached?

As Speaker of the House, Tip O'Neil basically gutted everything that he wanted to out of Reagan's initial budgets. Reagan had much more to handle than Obama, and did so with a Democratic Congress, a hostile press, the the Soviet Union. Barry has complete and total control of two branches of government. He has the largest majorities in Congress since Lyndon Johnson. Yet what does he give us? Excuses. Now we need billions more in stimulus to pay off his union goon allies.
Everything is George Bush's fault. Barry is responsible for nothing in his eyes. Pelosi, Reid, Frank are all responsible for nothing in their eyes, even though their party controlled Congress and exercised no oversight into many of the banking failures. I am just waiting for a reporter to have the guts to ask Barry if "anything" is his fault. I won't be holding my breath.

Let me guess frostlion, you watch nothing but Fox "news"? You say Obama doesn't take responsibility? Perhaps that is what Fox tells you to believe. The truth is a little different....actually, it's a lot different.
Obama takes responsibility for AIG bonus fiasco

Obama takes responsibility for intelligence failures
http://www.canada.com/news/Obama+takes+ ... story.html
Obama Takes Responsibility for Nominee Mess

Perhaps you missed this Obama quote ""the buck stops with me. As president, I have a solemn responsibility to protect our nation and our people, and when the system fails, it is my responsibility." I suppose they didn't air that on Fox. I know you didn't hold your breath, but you could have....all you had to do was a simple Google search to see how often Obama has accepted responsibility.

I'll wait for the "I take responsibility for the fact that my administration spent $1,000,000,000,000 on stimulus and it did nothing."
Yes, I do watch Fox News because they are the only ones to call Barry on his baloney.
This "president" is a joke, and nothing without his beloved teleprompter and his adoring media. He was elected because people bought into his rock-star "image" that was promoted by an adoring press, and the fact that the Republicans ran the worst campaign they have in recent history. When I think of Barry, I think of Robert Redford in "The Candidate". All show. Zero substance. This guy is nothing more than a media whore. I wonder how much time he looks in the mirror each day?
Notice that gas prices have risen almost 20 cents in the past several weeks. Is that Bush's fault also?
