Re: Hi, my name is Tom Bradley...
There's plenty of upside in hiring Wannstedt for that job. No one is saying he can't recruit, and won't be able to. And yes, if they don't get developed at PSU whenever the recruiting classes are so good, that's Penn State's fault. Especially the coaching staff, obviously. Those kids were getting recruited by every school in the country. Williams was the #1 player in the nation before he ever committed to Penn State. So, there's no conspiracy where the best PSU recruit is magically the number one player in the country. If the kid lays an egg, it's the fault of the staff and himself. And for the record, cave-dwellers, I'm a college football fan who's favorite team happens to be Penn State. I am not a Penn State fan who happens to also like college football. If Penn State loses the recruiting wars to Pitt, so be it. If Pitt wins 10 games, congratulations. If Palko wins the Heisman, congratulations. BUT... the fact remains, that Pitt plays in a conference that is arguably as NATIONALLY competitive as the WAC or Conference USA. You are living in a dream world if you think Pitt could go 9-2 or 8-3 or even better in the Big Ten. This season in the Big East is going to be even worse with the criticism because of WVU taking a step back. And if you really think Pitt is going to just be handed credibility after that debacle of a bowl game, which was absolutely the most piss-poor effort I've seen in the past few bowl seasons, you better wake up. The media clings to past success and past failures with teams. Nobody is going to take your team seriously unless you beat the hell out of Louisville, which will not happen. And it's gonna be even worse when Louisville plays a weak schedule both in and out of conference this season, continues to be the media darlings (ended up fifth last year), goes undefeated, and gets obliterated by USC for the national championship, because no one else is good enough to run their conference gauntlets this season unscathed. Mark my words.

Pitt IS NOT in the Big Ten, so let's not deal in hypotheticals. Let the season play out and see what happens.

Dear AE,
You tell 'em! Pitt stinks and plays in a weak conference. We should be able to outrecruit them easily. The Big Ten is the best conference on the planet. That's what I todl Williams and King and was able to land them. I also wrote at least 50 handwritten letters to them each day telling them how much State College is like Monroeville.
GO BLUE! GO WHITE!

PS-Does anyone happen to have the address of the MVP of the Big 33 game, LaRod Stevens? I know that Pitt already signed him, but he's a nice kid and I wanna write him a handwritten letter and ask him how his summer's going.

Why not write some of those letters to Jose Cruz? I understand he won't be playing for Akron this year due to a little discrepancy relating to lack of attention to classes his past few years. (For those of you uneducated, HIS GRADES SUCK!)

Isn't there some kind of minimum grade point average that you need to maintain to remain at McCort? And this has been happening for TWO years?

Imagine. Spending $9,600 in tuition for the last 2 years and coming away with bad grades. Why wasn't this monitored by someone, including the parents? Wasn't he sent there for all the benefits of parochial education?

Re: Hi, my name is Tom Bradley...
I like how WPIAL~Titan refers to Bradley as the Linebackers' coach. You make fun of him even though he is the cornerbacks' coach. This whole thread is built on how Bradley could turn everyone into a great linebacker. Joe is the one known for trying to convert everyone to linebacker, not Bradley. It must be nice to think you are so knowledgeable about everything.
