Gwen Stefani snubs MTV Music Awards Show

Singer Gwen Stefani is refusing to attend the MTV Video Music Awards as the channel reportedly did not ask her to perform.

According to the New York Daily News, Stefani is deeply offended by the snub and is staying away in protest. The one-time lead singer of rock band No Doubt and now solo artist has been nominated for a slew of awards.

An insider says, "We love Gwen and we hope she will be able to join us, as we know her fans would love to see her on this big night - especially since she's heavily nominated".

But other artists who will be attending and performing are Coldplay, Shakira, Mariah Carey, Greenday and Kanye West.

Kind of makes you wonder when they ask Mariah Carey and Kanye West to perform, yet Gwen Stefani, with her hits "Rich Girl" and "Hollaback Girl" isn't asked to perform. She's one of the most popular artists right now, but apparently MTV is too busy with its reality shows to take notice.

ok........i dont watch MTV, or ever heard of any of those songs, but i suppose it is the same if they didnt invite Toby Keith to the CMAs, right

No, those songs are terrible. The only reason they are played is because of her name. She was 'snubbed' by MTV because she's terrible.

If her songs are terrible, she's doing pretty darn well to have gotten both of them into the top ten. It's all a matter of opinion, and in my opinion, if MTV wanted to have popular musicians playing on their awards show, they should have asked her to perform.

i dont get it, shes not that talented, that group she was with before was atleast a little bit better
