You can't tell me that team is better after losing Benson and Johnson. UT is getting hype because Oklahoma sucks. Even if USC can't stop Young, do you think UT can stop the USC offense? I'd bet on USC in a shootout. But when games look close... go with coaching. USC crushed OU, Notre Dame beat Pitt. That's just how I roll.

USC has a good secondary. If they force Vince Young to try to beat them through the air, Texas would be screwed. Also, USC would have a month to prepare for Texas, and it seems that when they have a month to prepare for a game, they could blow nearly anybody out. One more thing of note is where the national title game is being held. Pasadena is going to be full of USC fans, and if memory serves me, that is UCLA's home stadium. That's practically a home game for USC. There is NO WAY Texas would be able to beat them in that type of environment. If they played Texas in the regular season, I think Texas would have a decent chance. However, playing in the Rose Bowl, with USC having a month to prepare for them, and for the national title, would not bode well for the Longhorns. USC by two touchdowns (or more).

USC should have a good depth chart since they are the only consistant power house on the west coast. All the east coast and mid-west teams have many teams to compete against to get recruits. USC's schedule is very easy but it may not be their fault were there are no other teams in your half of the country that is good year in and year out who do you schedule. That shouldn't be their excuse for their weak non-conference.

I think this Texas team is better than last year's team. Yes, those two were the leaders on offense and defense last season. However, Young with an extra season of experience makes him a lot more dangerous than he was. Also, Limas Sweed has another year under his belt and has looked very good to this point. That's just my opinion, TAE. I know you'll disagree with it because you disagree with everything I say.

Abpk,

I'm glad someone else is on the same page.

Deliverance,

I disagree with you because you're opinions are too much heart and not enough brains. You and I both know not to bet on Mack Brown. Sure they beat Ohio State. But Ohio State also made about 15 mistakes in that game. That guy consistently loses to teams who are better than him, or coaches better than him. And if you think Stoops hasn't already realized his season is a waste... better think again. I guarantee you OU has been prepping for Texas since that 1st loss.
