The Fans Poll
Schembechler: "When I was coaching, I couldn't be completely fair to the teams I didn't see. I would usually pass [voting in the coaches' poll] on to other people. I just didn't have time. Now, not only do we have the time, but we look at 20 game tapes each week. I know more about college teams throughout the country than I ever did when I was coaching."
Some new poll has just debuted with former coaches. That is fine. They have the time and they have the expertise to know what they are talking about. However... do you trust these people? How can you expect Bo Schembechler to make the right decision if it comes down to Michigan or Ohio State going to the Rose Bowl? You can't expect him to, because, as always, there are too many politics involved in this.
This is why there needs to be a fans poll of people who can watch all the games and have Saturdays free. You should have to apply to join the poll, and favorite-team tendencies should be both monitored and the voter should be subject to removal from the poll. Objective people who show knowledge and understanding of the game should be the ones admitted. And by no means should this poll be the final say in anything. It should be one part of it, just like the AP poll is, or whatever else.
This system we have is endlessly corrupt and continues down that same path with every "solution" that comes up.

Smart stick!?!?! I thought that was an UGLY stick! I thought that was why TAE wears that tossle cap year round, to pull down over his head! LOL
