What does Pitt have to do with the topic Paternoville? Seriously, can't you guys defend PSU or the big ten without bringing up Pitt. I'm telling you, Wisconsin sucks and the facts prove it!!! Somebody tell me I'm wrong about that and make a case for it. Please!!!!!

Its quite simple moldy, you pop your beak into a PSU related thread, talk smack on Penn State and then cry foul when someone brings up Pitt. I would like to think being 55 yrs old you would understand this.
Why?

First of all, those rankings don't mean anything. Secondly, the Big Ten IS down this year: they have no usual suspects in the national title hunt. OSU has 2 losses, Michigan has 8 losses, MSU lost, Wisconsin lost, Purdue was as over-rated as usual. That doesn't mean the Big Ten sucks. Once again, within the conference, the Big Ten is one of the best conferences in football. Is Miami, VTech, BC, and FSU all going to win the ACC? Of course not. But you have to beat those teams to get there. Believe it or not, when FSU plays a conference game against Miami, someone has to lose the game. That doesn't mean Miami sucks!

And what did Northwestern do, Moldo? They did exactly what I told you they'd do: sneak up on someone in the Big Ten just like they do every season. But, wait, NW sucks. They only put up 700 yards of offense. Even against a I-AA team, that's still impressive.

Sagarin ratings have the B10 as the #1 conference...saw it on BWI.

I don't think the Big Ten is the number one conference right now, it is a bit of a down year. But still, Wisconsin is a good team. How about that win over Michigan? Northwestern always sneaks up on somebody, and they're always a threat to pull an upset every game. No, Ohio State and Michigan aren't doing too well right now. But Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan State only have one loss apiece, and Penn State is 6-0. Maybe it isn't so much that the conference is down so much as it is the good teams in the conference didn't get a head start in the polls.

Ohio State is down this year? They lost two game to two really good teams. It's not like they got blown out. In my opinion, his year's OSU squad is maybe the 2nd best team Tressel has had in Columbus.

Moldo loves Jeff Sagarin. I wonder how much he likes the fact that Sagarin awarded PSU 2 national championships?

LOL. Ohio State did lose to two really good teams, but they haven't come out quite like everybody expected them to. Maybe that would be a better explanation. Penn State looks like the class of the conference for the first time in a long time.

I definitely don't think the Big 10 is anywhere near the best conference this season. They have a lot of teams with good records at this point. However, if you watch teams from other conferences, you'll see more talent and better teams. The two best teams going into the year in the conference both have two or more losses at this point. In my opinion, that makes your conference a little iffy right there.
