I think that this is actually the year the Longhorns go undefeated. But, Virginia Tech and Florida State, if either one goes undefeated, may go higher in the computer polls (expecially with strength of schedule added in), and knock the Longhorns out of the Rose Bowl, especially if the human polls are fairly close. Georgia, Alabama, and Penn State are other teams that might be able to pull the same kind of stunt because of their strength of schedule. The Big 12 is not only down this year, it is downright awful. If Texas doesn't maintain a huge lead in the human polls over the other teams, they may be watching the Rose Bowl, rather than playing in it.

There's 4 teams better than Texas.

1. USC
2. Virginia Tech
3. Florida State
4. Miami

Only problem is that those last 3 all play in the same conference. UT will probably play for the national title, and someone better will get left out in the cold.

Does anyone have any thoughts or predictions on this game? This is the decider for the Big East Title.

Oh, it only gets better here people!

Well, if Austin Scott was so good why isnt he up for the heisman like larry fitzgerald ...THATS WHAT I THOUGHT. He might be good, but i'm sorry he must not be good enough to win them many games.

Yes, a total Pitt devoted fan.

Forum: Fact or Fiction? Posted: Mon Feb 02, 2004 8:31 am Subject: Penn State (football) is a top 20 team next year.
Fiction. Penn State football will be on the rise again. But I don't see them being in the top 20. The defense should be pretty good. But the offense will be bad once again. They may go 1 game over ...

this one hurts too doesn't it?

still reading all your previous posts and not finding ONE about Texas before this season...

Forum: College/Pro Sports Posted: Sat Sep 25, 2004 10:08 pm Subject: Re: Furman 31 - Pitt 17
Furman is ranked 2nd in Division II. I know that's not saying a lot since yes they are division II. But still the Panthers are on a down year, so i figured it'd be a good game. They ended up winnin ...

I bet his tune changes.

Forum: Fact or Fiction? Posted: Thu Sep 30, 2004 10:12 am Subject: Re: Can Penn St. Win 3 games this year??
Fiction. Penn State will win a big 4 games this year. They just have a sad team with an old coach. It could be awhile until we see a bowl contender out of Penn State.

another bold prediction about PSU from deliverance.

Pitt might be the underdog here, but I believe they'll win.

his story is begining to change....

Haha that's very wishful thinking Ham. That won't happen. But it's fiction. They will lose a game this season. Guaranteed it won't be to the Steelers, though.

once again he chimes in with his great wisdom and foresight.

Forum: College/Pro Sports Posted: Mon Nov 15, 2004 7:10 am Subject: Re: Pitt Vs Notre Dame
How about them Panthers. I believe WVU is next. If they can win that one, they'll be in a BCS Bowl. Probably not deserving, but yet they still might get it. Palko is a tough QB.

November of 2004 and still no mention of Texas...

Forum: College/Pro Sports Posted: Wed Nov 24, 2004 7:17 pm Subject: Re: Pitt/WVU
I think the Panthers come out with a victory here. It should be a really good game. I can't wait to watch it. Palko knows a victory here could help bring his man Walt Harris back.

haha!

goodbuddy, are you saying this Pitt team isn't any good? I'm glad you think a team playing in a BCS Bowl isn't any good. I think they'll prove you wrong.

look at that, in a PSU thread, deliverance bashing PSU, what a surprise. oh, btw, still no mention of texas being one of his favorite teams...

Haha. HINT. It's Texas beating OHIO STATE at OHIO STATE 25-22. That's real football. Beating the best big 10 team at their house. Yeah, that's real football. Also, look at the Texas schedule com

there it is. September 22 2005, the first and not last 'claim' to liking texas. amazing how that works...

ain't that a stinker...

nice post.

We nail Meat-chicken in the Big House.
31-17.

What I can see developing...

(1) ND beats USC this weekend.
(2) FSU drops one to Urban's boys.
(3) VT drops one to the Thugs from Miami.
(4) Texas has weak strength of schedule.
(5) The Bulldogs drop one, probably to Urban's boys _maybe_ Auburn.
(6) PSU runs the table.
(7) Notre Dame runs the table.

PSU vs. Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl.

The NCAA and the media would have to LOVE that....

Sorry, Meyer's boys aren't that good. They did creamed by Alabama 31-3 a little while back. I think FSU and Virginia Tech will win, though with a really tough ACC schedule, it wouldn't be too surprising to see either one lose sometime....

ok, lets just break this undefeated thing down. i am assuming that any team in the top 25 now who goes undefeated will be ranked higher by the bcs than any team with one loss. thus an undefeated alabama would make the championship game over a one loss texas or usc team. that might turn out to be false, but we'll leave it at that for simplicity. the teams that are currently undefeated w/ a legitimate chance at the title game are usc, texas, va tech, florida st, alabama, georgia, penn state, ucla, and texas tech. thats 9 undefeated teams.

usc plays ucla.
texas plays texas tech.

thats 2 undefeated teams gone right there since both ucla and usc or texas and texas tech cannot win the game.

the sec has a championship game. if alabama and georgia remain undefeated for the regular season, they will square off in the title game. same goes for the florida st. and va. tech in the acc, which now has a championship game. that is 2 more undefeated teams gone. so...

usc or ucla
texas or texas tech
alabama or georgia
florida state or virginia tech
and penn state

...can all be undefeated. therefore, at most 5 undefeated teams will be squaring off for the 2 spots in the bcs championship game. of course, every team listed has tough games, and i highly doubt that more than 3 teams will head into the bowl season without a loss.
