yes...cowher should have pulled maddox and put batch in...no cowher shouldn't leave the steel city by any means.

they should have ran the ball more than what they did, parker didn't have that many yards and thier rushing game is basically what they pride themselves on. I was seriously here in my dorm yelling at the TV, "RUN THE *insert explitive* BALL!!!!"
Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.

its always amazing how one bad game can make people forget about an amazing career. i dont blame cowher at all for the loss...was the strategy bad? sure. but hes not the one that turned the ball over FOUR times in one game. granted it was his choice to leave tom in the game but you dont need to bring out the axes for one game of bad decisions.

I agree with you gunner. I don't feel yesterday was one of Cowher's finest days but he is a very good coach. He gets his teams to play hard. He drafts very well. Lets not forget he is not in an organization that spends big money in the free agent market. He develop's his teams and keeps them strong year after year of free agent defections. Do I feel he is the best in the NFL? No way. But he is one of the best and he fits the team and city well.

plus he just got off an injury and he has and definetely showed signs of rust
but i think charlie batch should have played and i think that big ben could have too i mean he was in uniform
but that def was not maddox's day

Well, next week at Cincinnati is make or break, and I hope the Steelers pull it out. Big Ben should be ready.

As far as running the ball, they really couldn't with much success, as Jacksonville apparently had keyed on the run. Pittsburgh was averaging less than three yards per carry. Ouch! But yesterday was just a god awful day for Maddox. Maybe Cowher should have put Batch in, but at this point of the season, there's a lot of games left to be played.

WALTER4, I just saw your signature for the first time and feel compelled to respond. I may be a bit sensitive to the term, but I find the word "retarded," when used this way, to be extremely insulting. I know the majority of people, like you, who use this term don’t think twice when they speak, considering it has become such a popular term. But what does this use for the word "retarded" imply about people who are disabled and mentally impaired? How do you think they feel and their families react to such remarks?
Think before you speak. You may not realize how offensive your comment is, or maybe you live in total ignorance—but I am sure that you're going to make fun of me for posting this. At least it will make you aware of how you are being perceived. It’s people like you that really make our world a better place. It’s pretty f’n sick to compare arguing on the internet to mental retardation. May God have mercy on your soul and your communication skills.

Gunner and Lefteye.

You contradict yourselve. You rip on Ken Salem for not winning championships but it's ok for Cowher?

Yea he produces a winner, and he is probably the best player coach in the NFL. He is an awesome motivater.

But can he win the big one? Because in the end, nobody cares how many wins you have, its all about the superbowl rings...PERIOD.
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!
