I beg to differ with you Opinionguy.
Lefteye, has never made a comment on Ken Salem.
But you are right partley. It does come down to superbowl rings. That is what all franchise's get judged by through history. But the Rooney's I am sure also want people in the seats. Consistent winning puts people in the seats and money n the pockets. That may be as important to owners as rings.

Ok....IF...you unload Cohwer...who ya gonna get..I mean really who is out there. In a few years Sean Payton will either have his own team, or take over the cowboys.....BUT other than him...im not sure there are many good replacements in the league.......Mike price, former alabama coach....lol.....or maybe tyrone willingham.....nothing like a failed college coach to get the burgh back up and running....maybe even ron zook....
what im trying to say is...your not gonna find better..theres only like 3 or so coaches in the league right now id rather have than bill cohwer and thats saying a lot since i hate the steelers...but the man is good.....and as a bonus he looks like my highschool biology teacher.....

In the end...it's all about championships.

Nobody cares if you were Joe Smoe who was a 1st team all Somerset County. Nobody wants to hear what you did, heck you can make it all up for all the better most people know. But if you were one of the better players on a team who won a championship, then people will listen. Flash that ring or hardware and you get immediate respect.

People like to hear about what teams won, not what individuals won. And players are judged what they do on the big stage. Quick, name the NFL MVP the last 5 years. Then, name the Super Bowl MVP the last 5 years. It's a lot easier to name the Super Bowl MVP...because that is what people care about...championships.

In order to find a coach who will win the big one, you gotta let the one who can't go. Maybe you are happy going 13-3 every year and losing in the AFC championship every year. Hey if that gets you off, good for you. It doesn't do it for me though, I want a guy who can win the big one when the opportunity comes, not choke and make bonehead calls, or come in unprepared time and time again.

Hey, maybe it's just a run of bad luck. Maybe the Steelers are becoming the Red Sox of football and we'll have to wait 86 years to get another title. Who knows, maybe Cowher will win the big one, then I will eat my words.

I'll place my money on that we won't have to change the verses of the "Here we go" Song as long as Cowher is in the Burgh.
And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!

I can't resist saying it...so here it goes.....
86 years would be way too soon as far as I am concerned........and I like the song just the way it is....in 1995 I got ruffed up a lil.....
Once at a CHURCH youth group superbowl party...after Neil's third interception throw...i pretended to whipe my "rectal region" with a terrible towel......my youthgroup piled on me and beat me up......
The next day at school some guy pushed me in the hall...i was wearing my Dallas stuff singing that very song.........
had to share.....

Maddox struggled big time Sunday. However, Batch has only thrown 8 NFL passes in the past 3 years. Cowher knew it was going to be tough. I think that he hoped his defense could get him through the game. It didn't because of the turnovers. It was hit or miss with Maddox on Sunday. They'll be alright now that Big Ben will be back Sunday.
